Really great about celiac, friendly staff!
I've been going to this restaurant since I was diagnosed with cd back in 2008. They have great food and great controls. Even when my favorite server thinks an item is ok for me, he double checks with the kitchen. Just make sure you let them know your gf needs up front and enjoy your evening!
I love eating at Pappadeaux!! The manager always comes out to ensure they meet my dietary needs. This is one of the places I know I can always trust for fantastic gluten free dining.
The gf menu did not contain Mahi, so the chef changed the not-gf menu item to a gf option for me. I was shocked that a restaurant this busy would do that by request. The food was fabulous and the service was top notch!
Have eaten here twice. Got the Greek salad with crab meat. Not cheap but nothing is in the airport. Was tasty and did not get sick. Nice to have fresh food while traveling.
This restaurant is mostly seafood, so the menu looks small and limited. It does have 5 to 6 options for salads, salmon, steak, lobster, and crab. I personally would not eat the crab meat due to imitation crab meat containing gluten. Food is tasty, service is great. Having an option to eat at an airport is great.
Ate at Pappadeauxs and was so pleased. They have a separate gluten free menu and I told the waiter it was due to celiac. He acted like it was not a big deal, which initially surprised me. I ordered the half chicken breast with broccolini and mashed potatoes. It came with a wooden food tag that said 'prepared gluten free'. It was absolutely delicious. There was something one the menu for everyone: chicken, steak, fish, oysters, sides. They do not have a fryer. I will be back when I visit Dallas again!
Very limited selection from dedicated menu. Food was expensive but very good. I expected much more from a seafood place! Need to rethink some of their menu to make GF...just some easy changes, nothing complicated and they could easily add another half dozen or more items.
Fantastic! They have a very nice GF menu with a disclaimer about cross contamination, but many of the GF menu options are logically created to avoid it. I enjoyed the the Jumbo Shrimp and Lump Crab appetizer wirh my niece, then had the Caribbean Lobster Tail, that came with mashed potatoes and broccoli that had red pepper flakes. Excellent meal, and experienced no issues, and I'm a Celiac. The restaurant is quite large, there may be some wait, but it will be worth it.
While the food was okay I wouldn't return for several reasons. The service was horrible, the offerings of gluten free options were extremely limited, the cleanliness was questionable, and the ambiance and environment left a lot to be desired. It was so loud we had to shout to hear each other and the tables were so small we could barely fit our food and drinks. I would not recommend for a celiac due to the tight quarters of everything and lack of proper cleaning. My glass of wine was so filthy that I sent it back without touching it.
I had the redfish with shrimp and crab in a Leon butter sauce, sub the risotto for white rice. Staff was knowledgeable and happy to ask the kitchen for more info about modifying regular menu items, management makes it a point to come ask you whether or not your reaction is from ingestion only or cross contamination as well. Their gluten free menu actually also has quite a few options, not a skimpy few items.
Here for a conference and they went out of their way for 4 days very celiac friendly!!!! They are on the list of favorites
Do yourself a favor and don't go here. First, their GF selection really isn't that great. Second, it's clear that the servers aren't well trained on the GF options. When I pointed out that my dish was wrong, our server insisted that a manager would come speak to me, which never happened. I was also told my dish would be re made but I was brought the same steak with different sides. Very disappointed.
Excellent service and attention to gluten free items. Manager visited my table without my request to assure me that the items I ordered would be prepared gluten free. She assured me that even my Bloody Mary was Prepared with proper procedure!
Pappadeaux gets five stars just for the effort of the manager to start. We came to celebrate a birthday and they went the extra mile. The manager offered to make my catfish with cornmeal instead of flour. They even started a different work station and fryer for my gluten free needs. The management even allowed me to bring in my own gluten free bread to enjoy with my fondeaux!

Ordered seared tilapia off of the gluten free menu. Spoke with a manager, and everyone was well aware that I have Celiac Disease. The fish was delicious, until I realized it had a light breading. Yep, the gluten free seared fish is finished with a light coating of flour...wheat flour.
Best seafood ever! A bit pricey, but the food is worth the price. I got the Costa Rican Tilapia, and it was amazing. This is one of the best places for seafood ever. The only gluten free desert here is the Crème Brûlée, but it is delicious. Just don't forget to say that it you need it gluten free.

I would have to disagree with a few of the reviews here. I had a very pleasant experience at this restaurant. I also have a dairy allergy as well as gluten and the manager came out and talked with me several times to make sure they were doing everything they could to accommodate. They prepared what I ordered differently than on menu to ensure as little cross contamination as possible. My meal was fantastic. (Chicken) I was impressed with they way they took care of me. Have not had that happen before. Personally, I would recommend this place. It is expensive but if you let them know that you have an allergy, they will take it seriously, which is what I look for in restaurants. Yes, they do not have GF bread. But their menu has a pretty nice selection (for a GF menu).
They do have a gluten free menu and offer to alter any meal they can. I wish I had ordered of the menu. I had blackened Costa Rica mahi off the lunch menu. I had to sub white rice instead of grits. Fine. No lump crab with lemon butter sauce. I had less than half the food for $22. Very disappointing. The fish itself was wonderful. Staff tried hard but still a disappointing, very expensive lunch.

Sat at the bar had had the best shrimp Caesar in my life. The bartenders mom is celiac and everything on the gf menu is very safe. Loved it! Super fast and nice service as well.
They have a gf menu just like the ones in town. Manager double checked everything.
