I had an awful experience here I’m confused about the good reviews. They put bread on my plate and then got annoyed when I said that wasn’t ok. Dismissed my questions on cross contamination and then one of the waiters snarled at me, so confusing as an adult man to do that?? he was then really confrontational. I will never go back or recommend to anyone
Delicious, cute restaurant with excellent service. They make almost all their pastas in house. They can make almost any pasta dish (and almost anything on the menu GF). Have gf bread.
They understood cross contamination — waiter brought up how they do everything separately without us even asking. Would highly recommend for gf and non gf alike.
Pricey but great pasta, wasn’t sure if it was made in house but it was delicious. The gluten free bread was great as well, came out toasted and I checked to make sure it was toasted without cross contamination (it was), so that’s a nice addition as well. Lots of gluten free options to choose from!
Loved this place. Their gluten free bread and gluten free pasta were excellent. The waiter was very helpful with ordering. We were there late on a Sunday night so basically had the restaurant to ourselves which may have been why we received such personal service. Regardless, food was excellent. So happy we found this place on the fly.
Not celiac safe.
Tldr: they put bread on my meal and argued with me that I should still take it (and that it was my fault for not requesting GF bread replacement with the meal even though I had spoken to the waiter twice about being celiac and the menu never said the meal came with bread)
Had a really unfortunate experience here. The location and design and environment of the restaurant are both A+ but it went downhill from there. Maybe they changed owners?
I mentioned I was celiac on the reservation and when I arrived. The waiter was very confident and confirmed that he was aware I needed gluten free food.
When ordering I ordered a gluten free pasta and a plate of cured meats.
He brought out the meats with slices of regular bread piled on top. I said oh, is this bread gluten free...? And then instead of realising his mistake, he started to argue with me about it. Probably the most uncomfortable experience I've had at a restaurant.
The waiter said it was my fault because a) I didn't ask for it with gluten free bread (even though bread wasn't mentioned anywhere on this menu item) b) he said he couldn't have known I wanted it gluten free as it's a shared item... So for some reason I would have ordered a shared item that I couldn't share? C) he said he would replace the bread that was touching all the items on the board with a gluten free bread for an additional charge - when I explained that with celiac disease cross contamination is to be avoided, he seemed insulted that I was explaining celiac disease to him and wasn't interested in any information I could give him about why his solutions were not helpful.
When later discussing the challenge of eating out with celiac disease with one of the other people at my table, the waiter was listening in and came over to explain that he does understand becuse he also has an allergy... He wasn't happy when I explained he had that wrong also and that celiac disease is not an allergy.
On top of this, all the other folks I was with said their food was basic. One person said their lasagna was only partially heated through... I could see the kitchen and they were definitely not making anything fresh.
Cherry on top: thirty minutes later I have the classic signs of being glutened.
Great gluten free options. A little pricey but very safe!
I'm smitten. The gluten-free bread was grilled in olive oil (yum), the olives were delicious, and the GF pasta was done perfectly and tasted great. (They are careful to cook the GF pasta in its own water, BTW.)
The service can be a bit...relaxed. So plan on taking your time and savoring, you won't be disappointed.
They offer wheat-free pasta and breads. I haven't tried the pasta yet, but my sandwich was delicious.
