Ordered a gf brownie and a gf cranberry muffin to split, and had the Honduras pour over with cream and sugar and unfortunately got sick afterwards. Don’t know from what exactly, could’ve been gluten cross contamination or something else. Too bad because everything was very good.
The staff seemed fairly knowledgeable about gluten issues. They acknowledged the chance of cross contamination, and affirmed that all of the sandwich material was gluten free. I had the avocado toast on gluten free bread. While it tasted just okay, it did not cause any allergic reactions.
Pettibone has gluten free pastries/desserts as well as gluten free options for lunch and breakfast. The pastries are kept in a separate case from the other pastries/desserts. I've spoken with leadership about cross contamination multiple times and they are very knowledgeable. They understand Celiac Disease and clean countertops and use separate utensils, aluminum foil, etc. when preparing a gluten free order. If you become regular, they know to mark it as an allergy before you even order.
