This place is excellent. I was so thrilled to be able to eat EVERYTHING. I had vegan pot pie and lemon berry cake for dessert. the pot pie had delicipus crust and was hearty, warm and flavorful. the lemon berry cake was excellent, lemon filled, moist, fresh.
AMAZING! Was fortunate enough to sample a few of Petunia’s cookies when I was passing through Portland and already can’t wait to go back! Chewy, fabulous texture so rare to find in GF, totally safe, dedicated GF facility. Never would have known that they’re also vegan!
we were happy to know everything is celiac friendly, but it's also vegan. for us non-vegans, the food is still a long way from the delicious original stuff we crave. cinnamon rolls were pretty tasty.
Delicious pastries, knowledgeable staff, all gluten free and vegan menu.
Best Bakery in Portland! We went to a total of #6 & Hands Down - this is worth every Bite!
Beautifully decorated & clean space. It's just pleasing to the eye to walk into such a chic bakery. We got desserts and cocktails. I was overwhelmed and let the cashier order for me and I probably shouldn't have agreed to what she picked for me. I think I just ended up with a desert I would never order. It wasn't bad, but you walk and your expectations soar. I have to believe I would love something else and it was just a bad pairing. They also serve lunch, I wish I had known because the table next to us had some really appealing dishes they were chewing down on. My company really enjoyed what they got, so I would definitely give them another shot next time I'm in town.
Great food and desserts! Fully gf! Beer and ciders breakfast and lunch items too
Delicious food! Everything is GF and Vegan.
Ok food, delicious cupcakes, beautiful environment
Entirely gluten free. The cinnamon roll with cream cheese icing is to die for. I'd drive back into the city for it anytime!!! Ask for it to be heated up!!! Insanely good and in a great spot.
Delicious babycakes (cupcakes) and donuts. I love being able to go to a place and not have to worry about what I can eat. I've gone here 3 times and have had no issues. 💕
It was perfect! Great food, good music, hip interior, and large menu. Did I mention the specialty cocktails... yum. The location is safe and trendy.
So good we went there twice. Get an ice cream sundae, it's amazing! They have lots of sweets but we also had lunch there. I had a veggie pot pie and husband had vegan Mac and cheese.
super yummy and knowledgeable about ingredients if you have other allergies
Their pot pie is the best! I was attending a conference in the area and was doomed to another lunch of salad. Thankfully, I found Petunia's and had the amazing veggie pot pie and black and white baby cake. Soooo good!
Sugar-bombs and way overpriced. Cascadia and Gem are leaps and bounds better.
Love this place! Everything is gluten free and vegan and it tastes amazing. I had the white cake and coffee cake, both were delicious.
Ordered an apple pie for Thanksgiving. One word: Amazing!! Will be back again and again. Talked to the manager and the entire menu is Certified Gluten Free and vegan.
What a treat having an entire restaurant GF!! The store is gorgeous, decor is fun, and display case is jaw-dropping. Had the pesto, tomato, cheese grilled sandwich & husband had spinach lasagne. Both were amazing although my husband thought the sandwich was a tad oily. Then we ordered dessert (had some there and took some to-go) pumpkin donut, coconut-chocolate cake, chocolate peanut butter pie, pumpkin cheesecake, and apple pie. Chocolate peanut butter pie was the best followed by donut. For GF/vegan it's good, but with a few tweaks it could be awesome. Ingredients taste fresh and good quality. With GF, it's generally better to add more spice, more vanilla, more chocolate, more flavor to help mask flours that have a "watery" flavor. It's not the best GF/vegan treats we've had, but it was good. Oh, and would be good if staff laundered their uniforms and aprons more regularly. They looked like dirty girls fresh out of the pig pen.
Had a buster bar, it was straight heaven. The dirty chai was a little off for my taste, but not a deal breaker as the pastries more then compensate.
So many choices! Pot pies, Mac and cheese, waffles and countless desserts.
My daughter and I love this place and went four times the weekend we were in Portland. They are vegan as well as celiac friendly which was perfect for my animal living girl. They have a limited number of savory lunch and dinner options, which were pretty tasty. Great desserts! Definitely not nut free. Pretty pricey. A piece of pie was $7-$8.
Super cute place and very friendly staff but. ...left pretty disappointed. Had the biscuits and gravy and I'm pretty sure the biscuits were microwaved for a good 5 minutes. Very dry but the gravy had good flavor. Took a donut with me for later but after about 2 bits was done with that. The center was very wet almost like it had been dipped in water. Really wanted to love this place but no such luck😢
A beautiful shop and good food. I got the pesto, tomato and vegan mozzarella sandwich, and I ate it UP. My friend got the pot pie, which I tasted and liked for its simple flavors. The crust was flaky... without butter! I also had the salted caramel blondie (or something like that) and it was also yummy. A great find!
Everything is gluten-free and dairy free great find! Tried the chocolate mint cupcake, absolutely delicious!
I had a whoopie pie and a rose tea. it was amazing and I had no reaction at all! the staff was kind and the atmosphere is sweet and comfortable.
Yummy and everything is gf! The food menu is small but we liked both things we got. Large assortment of baked goods.
Cute place The food was good. Everything is GF. I had a grilled cheese sandwich - very tasty. Then split a doughnut and a sticky bun with a friend - both yummy. There was a steady flow of traffic. The seating is tight and the service pretty slow. We had plenty of time, so we were OK, but it seems like the staff could work more efficiently.
This whole place is gf! I've had a lot of their lunch and pastry items and love them. The only thing is that their pastry menu is different per day, so you never know what they will have when you walk in. Cute little place that's worth the visit!
Just okay, some things are pretty artificial tasting with all the soy. Not my favorite gf bakery in town. I prefer Tula.
Loved it!! Eat the Blue Tacos!
Vegan biscuits and gravy were (surprisingly) amazing. Kids loved the waffles too.
Hmmm... I want to say good things about Petunias, but I can't. The concept is great, the execution a fail. Flavors and textures are lacking and overall, one would be better off buying pre-made. If you want pretty... You'll find it, you want tasty, move on.
My new favorite gluten free bakery. The options for breakfast along with all of their pastries are wonderful. The vegan gluten free biscuits and gravy were amazing. Even the meat and gluten eaters of the group enjoyed it thoroughly. Also, it was the first time I've had a doughnut in years. If you get a chance try the coconut!
Some of the absolute best gluten free bakery I have ever had!! Buster bar (peanut butter and chocolate) was amazing, and the thin mint brownie was good although would be nice if the brownie was a bit denser and more moist, but that is personal preference. Excellent cake ... One would never know its gluten free!
Wow! Yippee, my dream has come true, delicious.
The vanilla and hummingbird babycake a were delicious! The chocolate and Cookie Monster baby cakes not quite as good. The chocolate based cakes aren't as moist, denser and have a bit of an after taste. The cookie on top of the Cookie Monster cupcake just crumbled but I did like the cookie dough filling. The black and white cake looked amazing but was a little disappointing. It was a chocolate based cake and had the same issues as described above. Vegan and gluten free may not play out as well for chocolate based recipes. I'm still newly diagnosed celiac so I am still taste testing a lot of things to find what works for me. I would def. go back for the other items and just stay away from the chocolate cake items.
Oh my heavens! Beautiful space and 100% celiac safe. All the desserts were beautifully presented and what I tried was delicious. I had ice cream from Salt & Straw with their cookies blended in. I also took a cookie and a couple bars home to try later. I want to go back for lunch sometime.
Get ready to be a kid in the candy shop. Petunia's Pies and Pastries off ers so much more than their simple name suggests. Sure, they've got pies and pastries, but the list certainly doesn't stop there, nor does the name off er a true gauge of how delicious all their treats are!
This place was my mecca! Great baked goods and coffee to go with it.
My non-Celiac boyfriend and I had breakfast there this morning in our way back to Washington, and I wish I had a bakery like this close to me! He had the coffee cake and I had a cinnamon roll. Both were perfectly balanced in sweetness and texture. His macchiato was good and he commented on the nice flavor of the cream. The staff was really sweet and I felt really good about being in a dedicated facility. Also, their shop is really cute and has great light. I wish I could stop in regularly!
I had the Belgian waffle and my husband (who isn't celiac) had the biscuits and gravy - they were both incredible! Their tag line is 100% true - these were some of the best pastries we've ever had and lucky for me they were GF. I was even more impressed with the texture and flavor knowing they were also vegan. We live in Seattle and will definitely be back for more!!
Biscuits and Gravy were amazing. The potatoes were mixed with butternut squash. It was a great combo.
Staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, and the biscuits & gravy were amazing! It was so nice to know that everything on the menu was safe for me. I also loved seeing the baffled looks on my family's faces when they heard all the dairy free milk options;) I bought half a dozen pastries to go, and they've all been delicious so far.
Amazing baked goods! The salted caramel brownie is a favorite of most people in my family, including gluten eaters. You can find their baked goods around town and everything I've tried is great. Meals at the café are fab also, have enjoyed some quiche, biscuits and gravy (hard to believe they were gf and vegan!) and tomato, basil, 'mozzarella' sandwich and all have been wonderful. Friendly and helpful staff in a cute and clean shop.
Some of the best baked goods I've had in my life.
Pecan roll, blueberry cake, and thin mint donut were awesome! Didn't want to leave
After ordering a birthday cake, which turned out horrible, the owner was not very concerned. Would not refund the price of the cake which was $100. It was an embarrassment with our guest how horrible the cake was. To this day the owner Lisa ignores my emails and will not return a call. I would never order a cake there again.
Holy cow! This place is delicious and there are so many different choices. I've had the pies, breads, and cookies - all amazing!
Wish I could give this more stars. I ordered a cake from them before they had the brick and mortar store. My sister who eats whatever she wants took one bite and said"you can't eat this. It's too good to be safe for you." And the owner/ baker had stayed up late making it special for me because at that time their usual buttercream frosting had soy ( it doesn't now, I think) I'm going to ask if they can do a wedding cake.
