Pho Claire

This is one of my favorite spots to go for Pho. I have eaten here numerous times and have never had any issues. The staff are very helpful and they are able to explain what’s gluten-free.

— Good

Pho base is almost always safe, no matter the restaurant. The trick is that hoisin and other sauces are not. I ended up getting the Hu Tieu instead because I prefer Pho with hoisin and they do not have gluten free hoisin. The Hu Tieu was quite good.

After asking for detail on what was on the sauce my chicken had been cooked in, the manager not only refused to tell me the ingredients but admitted it wasn’t really gluten free. When told that the wrong ingredient could literally put me in the hospital, his response was, “well, we can’t please everyone”. Do not trust their GF menu!

The restaurant staff at Pho Claire were very knowledgeable and accommodating. Although it was fairly late when we arrived, they took a lot of time to explain that the ingredients that they had formally used are no longer available to them which has caused the beef pho to have potential for contamination. Because he assured me that the chicken pho would be safe, I decided to go that route. The chicken pho was delicious and I felt fabulous after eating it. While I was there, I was informed that they are in the process of reprinting their menus to reflect the risk of cross contamination in some of their dishes.

Every time I visit or order take out I feel great! Menu items are clearly marked with no confusion. Staff knowledgeable on gluten free items. The Pho is very authentic!

So many great gluten-free options! Food was terrific - great flavors! Staff was very knowledgeable and we felt very confident with their safety precautions. So glad we found this place. We’ll be back the next time we are in Myrtle Beach!
