I cannot say enough good things about our visit. Miguel was phenomenal and his understanding of gluten free options was top notch. This was our first dining experience in Phoenix and it will be hard for any place to top this restaurant. Everything is gluten free except the vegan pizza crust with its own oven, whaaaaat!? I’d recommend the choose two lunch with hearty portions of pasta and salad. We also chose a gluten free pizza to go since they are closing early for Christmas Eve.
Reasonably priced, very safe option, and exceptional service.
Amazing gf Italian restaurant! The only gluten in the restaurant is beer and select pizza crusts (cooked completely separately). My favorites are the cheesy bread with marinara and the salami & hot honey gf pizza. Also the gf tiramisu is INCREDIBLE. Plenty of df and vegan options as well!
My husband and I go here all the time and love it! This location in particular attracts a lot of the older demographics from Paradise Valley, but we don't mind. Their GF pizza crust is reasonably fluffy, their GF pasta is great, their zoodles are great, and their GF focaccia is amazing! Really no complaints. We go in-person and order takeout all the time and they are super knowledgeable about celiac and how to keep food safe. Never had any issues!
Was super happy to go to a safe restaurant with everything being a GF choice (including dessert!!) I got the GF pizza and the dough wasn't my favorite, I'll have to try the pasta next time. I went with my friend who has a dairy allergy and they had a whole vegan menu for her too!
Everything is gluten free unless you specifically ask for a gluten containing pizza crust! Absolutely fantastic experience, like entering an alternate reality where everything on the menu is safe.
Delicious food and great service, I’ll be going back if I’m ever in Phoenix again!
I'd been wanting to go here because I had heard they had a dedicated gluten free pizza oven. I have Celiac and get SUPER sick if I get glutened. I was thrilled to learn that everything there is gluten free. We had a pizza, salad and apple crumble for dessert.
Everything was delicious and the service was fantastic!
I can't wait to go back, again and again and again!!
A fantastic GF (and vegetarian/vegan) restaurant. Almost everything on the menus is GF or has a GF option, including soups and beverages. Great pizza, an we’ll be back for the pastas ASAP. Service was outstanding, friendly and attentive. Don’t miss this gem in Scottsdale!
Came here for dinner during a girls trip. They aren’t a dedicated gluten free facility, but they are very careful about cross contact, cooking, and preparing food separately. Their food was good and the staff was really nice! Nima tested the Caesar salad and Bianco pasta and got all smiles!
This was so amazing. I eat here multiple times on every trip to Phoenix. The menu is extensive and delicious. I have not eaten something I did not like. Here is my review from my first visit. I ordered take out pizza and salad. I am also dairy free so I was able to get an amazing, delicious gluten free dairy free pizza. They have a thin, crispy, delicious crust. The first pizza I have enjoyed fully in years. I only wish I bought a couple to take back with me to San Diego. The salad was fresh and delicious too. The staff was very knowledgeable and took time to make sure they were taking care of me. They also checked to make sure my pizza was correct before giving it to me. I waited a long time to come here and it was so worth the wait!
Amazing gem tucked into sun city! I was looking for a safe restaurant that serves a few GF options. The entire menu is GF. The only items that are non GF are variation of pizza crust. There is a dedicated GF pizza oven. There are many pasta options including ravioli and linguine. The turkey meatballs are to die for. Lots of GF beers too. Happy hour 3-6 can’t beat the prices for appetizer, drink and pizza specials (single topping only). Totally safe. The wait staff wear T-shirts that proudly boast GF restaurant. Vegan menu too. Indoor and outdoor options. Nice bar area too. Lovely.
Can’t add anything much to what’s been said but as someone who’s celiac and dairy free, this place is a gem. Servers are very knowledgeable and the waitress actually came back a few minutes after my order to double check that I knew the cauliflower crust had dairy. (Since I never eat pizza, I didn’t!) I switched to a vegan GF crust. They have GF beer, GF and DF dessert… nothing not to love.
It was a wonderful experience. The staff is friendly and stays on top of the service. The food is healthy and delicious AND they work with multiple allergies. They quickly remade my pizza when I pulled a piece out and saw stringy cheese. I asked if it was the vegan option or regular cheese because I had told them dairy allergy, but forgotten to specify any cheese (which I usually don’t use to avoid soy as well). The waiter checked to see and it was dairy cheese. Great atmosphere all the way around.
Had lunch there today and it was AMAZING! Had the chicken piccata pasta and Cesar salad lunch special. So much food and I can my non-GF friend thought it was delicious. The croutons are even gluten free, as is almost everything on the menu. Super GF safe, friendly staff and wonderful food.
Favorite place in Phoenix hands down. My belly loves the hot honey, fig, and salami pizza…my thighs not so much. 🤣
I was on vacation and found this place and was very excited to try somewhere that had so many options for me. This place was so amazing. Staff was extremely friendly and food was amazing. I have been GF for 5 years and this was the best GF pizza I have ever had. It is not your regular thin crust crust you get everywhere. It had the taste of a pan pizza but not as think. My friend, who is not GF, was very impressed as well. You must try the cheesebread as well.
Went during “healthy hour” (happy hour) with our family including our Celiac son. Everything on the menu is gluten free (except the large pizzas which is a bit odd but whatever). The food was absolutely delicious and the service was very good. Wished we lived in the area (here in vacation) to go more often. Would highly recommend. It was great to go somewhere and know that it was completely safe for my son and I didn’t need to worry about cross contamination.
Wow!!! Hands-down the best gluten-free restaurant we have ever been to. (And we travel a lot) We are also vegan, and they had the most vegan options I have ever seen. Dedicated gluten-free kitchen!
The service was AMAZING as well. Omar did a great job explaining the menu and going over options.
Cannot wait to go back and take the kids!
Hands down one of the best restaurants in town! This place is gluten free (with the exception of some pizzas prepared on dedicated space) and super knowledgeable for all dietary restrictions. Family owned and operated, knowledgeable staff. As a celiac family, we feel super safe. Gf Pesto ravioli and tiramisu are just incredible and our favorites!
I had great service and wonderful experience. But I am celiac and was assured that the gluten free pizza would not have be cross contaminated. Sadly, they were wrong. I got really sick. Apparently this location does not have a separate oven even though it is advertised in the menu. I am so disappointed, I thought I found my new spot! :(
This review is long overdue, and I'm almost ashamed I didn't get to it until now. But I'm writing it right before we plan to go back, it was so memorable.
We visited the Cactus Rd location a couple of months ago and had a fantastic time! Our server, Kale, was one of the best servers we've had at ANY restaurant. And that's saying a lot - we're middle aged and we eat out a LOT. So we've got a lot of experience and not always that easy to please.
But we were certainly pleased with Picazzo's, not just because of the remarkably great service from Kale (more on that later) but also because of the food quality, particularly for gluten-free. I know, I know, when you eat gluten-free or gluten-friendly, you're always qualifying your opinion with "this was really good for a gluten-free version of X." But at Picazzo's the food really IS that good, and you don't need the qualifier. My wife has the gluten allergy, I don't, and I had no complaints whatsoever.
I specifically remember the cheese focaccia was really good. Didn't fall apart, didn't crumble, really tasted great. And the turkey meatballs were also excellent. We didn't even try the pizza, but it looked great.
I had the eggplant Parmesan and it was excellent. I mean, there are a TON of gf options at this place, and everything we did have was great. Since we're planning another visit to Phoenix, no way we're missing Picazzo's again. It was THAT good.
A significant part of our positive experience was the service delivered by Kale. He has a great personality, very friendly and approachable. He did all the mechanical things skillfully - acknowledged us quickly, got our drinks (and by the way he's a great bartender because I had one of the mixed drinks, the Prickly Pear Margarita), timed our meal perfectly by giving us enough time to enjoy the appetizers before ordering the main dish, checked on us to see how we were doing - but more than just the mechanics of serving, he brought an art to it. I'm serious, there is just something about this guy, Kale, that brings serving to another level. It was easy and pleasant to engage with him. He had great menu knowledge, and made good recommendations. He seemed to enjoy what he's doing, and it shows in the quality of service he delivers.
Picazzo's has a winning formula, that's all I know. This is a restaurant where you can not only enjoy great food, excellent service, and even have lots of great gluten-free options. How could you not like it?
We had Mama’s meat-za balls, chicken parmesan, chicken piccata, baked rigatoni, and the hot apple crisp with the DF coconut gelato. The meatballs were good, but not great and the focaccia tasted more like plan bread, everything else was outstanding! I love chicken piccata and this one is very flavorful, without being too heavy. My husband kept raving about how good the Italian sausage was in the baked rigatoni. The entire menu (except one pizza dough) is GF! They have an allergen app online, so I was able to determine exactly what was safe for me to eat ahead of time. https://m.nutritionix.com/picazzos/portal
Wow! Wood fired gluten free pizza with a dedicated oven for gf! They have 2 options for gf crusts which they make themselves. I chose the regular gluten free crust over the gf cauliflower crust. I’m assuming the one I had was made from rice. It was GOOD however not the best gf pizza crust I’ve ever had. If I were to eat there again I would definitely try the cauliflower crust. They also offer regular (gluten) crusts which are prepped and cooked separately from the gf pizzas. My husband thought it was great and he is partial lol at about pizza!
