Every single time I go to the chipotle and tell them that I have a gluten allergy they immediately change gloves and utensils. Get out new cheese and stuff. Some of them now recognize me and know I’m GF!
First gluten free pizza since I found out I have celiacs. It was amazing. The staff cleaned all the surfaces and used gluten free dedicated utensils.
By far one of the best gluten free pizzas I've ever had. Great staff. Girl preparing my pizza offered to put on clean gloves even though she had just changed them and touched nothing and used all clean utensils.
I took a chance on this place considering I have Celiac and there's the risk of contamination but the employee changed gloves and utensils the moment I asked for gluten free, and called out that there was an allergen free request on the line. the crust was the best out there too!
I don't have full Celiac to my knowledge but wheat messes with me without a doubt. Gluten free crust was some of the best I've had anywhere. Staff even called after my online order to let me know the sauce I selected was not gluten free and provided other options.
The crust was decent. Not as good as Udi's sore bought crusts but still good. The choice of toppings is nice and I liked the sauce. Each pizza is a 10 inch so my wife got her own traditional crust. However, CC is likely. They put on new gloves but the toppings and sauce spoon may come in contact. Also, there was bread crumbs everywhere. on the counter, on the tables. if gluten didn't get in my pizza then they could get on my hands from the table. Celiac caution: they reuse the pizza cutter. ask them to wash it or get a fresh one. This will be a once in a great while treat for this celiac and family.
This place is awesome. They have trained staff. I asked for their gluten free crust and the employee immediately changed gloves. Separate tools are used and they cut the pizza with separate tools in a different area. Staff even knew that the Italian sausage I asked for had gluten in it, allowing me to avoid it. I will definitely become a regular here. Eaten here twice and haven't gotten sick. Awesome place!
Delicious gluten free crust, plus they very carefully keep the crust separated from contamination, cooking it on a separate grill plate. The lady here was very celiac friendly. She said a cook of theirs has celiac, so they are very careful here. Had the crab, tomato and cheese pizza and it was great!
The Staff was helpful and took precaution to keep my Pizza safe. I enjoyed the Cauliflower Crust and it was FANTASTIC - gf and I’d def recommend it. I have Celiac Disease and didn’t experience any issues.
Most of the staff here aren’t friendly or helpful and finding someone who is trained about gluten free and cross contamination isn’t easy. If you do go here, you have to watch and then talk them through it, making sure they don’t use the same utensils, etc and then be prepared for attitude if you have to correct them. It’s just not worth it. * Not all Pie Fives are like this, just this one seems extra bad.
Staff was nice but not knowledgeable. I walked them through every part of making the pizza and watched them very closely to make sure the pizzas didn’t touch. No employees touched the pizza without fresh gloves. I also asked that they do fresh sauce and spoon as well as the toppings! My daughter is very sensitive.
The guy working is gluten free as well so he was very very helpful. He cleaned the surface off, changed his gloves, got a new cutting board and pizza cutter! Everything is gluten free for sauces and toppings. I got the cauliflower crust- Alfredo pesto chicken pizza! It was amazing! Will come back
The staff was fast and friendly and conscious of the Celiac Allergy.
They have 2 options for gluten free- regular gluten free crust and a cauliflower crust. I am also dairy free and they have a vegan cheese!!!!! The staff went above and beyond. They pulled out a pizza crust box with the ingredient list for me to look at. They got a fresh cutting board for my pizza. Super service.
Called to confirm other reviews about Celiac friendliness. The person I spoke with didn’t know the difference between gluten free and gluten safe, gluten allergy, cross-contamination, etc. Likely others in the restaurant are knowledgeable, but it seems not everyone is trained, so we are skipping Pie Five for now and will use caution if we try to talk to someone different later.
I went to Pie Five soon after they opened in Springfield, and it was alright then. The gluten free crust is extra charge, and they also have vegan options. After a few months of being open, they became very sloppy with their work, including normal pizzas. They don’t do much to avoid cross contamination, and the last time I went, they put my gluten free pizza on the same cutting stone, covered in flour, that the pizza before me had been on, which wasn’t gluten free. Eating here has made me sick on the last three occasions that I went. The gluten free crust doesn’t taste particularly good in my opinion, either. If you have celiac, the risk to be glutened is very high here.
This location appears to have just recently closed. Was great for our gluten free child. Dedicated sauce container, individually wrapped crust. Employees well trained. The crust only comes in full size and is a $2 add on so is a little expensive for a child.
We ordered two pizzas at the same time. One gluten-free, one normal. Where they did have a gluten free crust and its own baking tray, they used the same exact utensils to cut the pizza, thus cross contaminating it. If you choose to eat here be very specific with them on what they need to do.
I am very celiac and have a hard time finding places to eat. Upon request they make their GF pizza in the back with fresh ingredients so there is no contamination. The oven is the same but with it being on a pan they don’t get contaminated. They have their own cutting board and pizza cutter on a separate counter so they’re not mixing. Best pizza I’ve ever had. Definitely should check it out if you are celiac and even those who aren’t fully celiac!
The staff was super nice! I told them I was gluten and dairy free and they all changed their gloves. They use a brand new pizza slicer and board for my pizza. They also take extra pro cautions and put the pizza in a to go box so there was no cross-contamination!
This is not safe for Celiacs. High risk of cross contamination. Spoons were not changed.(contaminated sauce used) Gloves were changed, but no hand washing. Chose to not eat here for our safety. This may be a good option for someone just trying to lower their gluten intake, but not for someone who has celiac or gluten intolerance.
Owner has gluten allergy! Came over personally to our table to make sure our daughter and I had a good experience! Super friendly staff! Just tell them how sensitive you are and they will take care of you! They did use a dif spoon to sauce the pizza etc. Very happy with experience and no reactions from our daughter with Celiac or me with a gluten insensitivity.
Good GF pizza, decent size, for a reasonable price! We'll be back.
Super careful about cross contamination. They prepare the pizzas separately and use separate cutters. Knowledgeable staff!
I am a very frequent customer. When I order and say that I am gluten intolerant, the staff always knows exactly what to do! The gloves are changed, clean spatula used, the pizza maker lets the pizza taker outer know there is a gluten free pizza in the oven, and separate board, cutter and other tools designated GF only are used. Most importantly, the pizza is DELICIOUS! AND I love using the app to earn points!
