Review

I’m editing my review as their covid policies just make this place impossible to shop from on a regular basis. They dramatically cut back their hours and still ask for masking (November 2022) for incredibly brief interactions. I tried to make an online holiday order and they automatically included a HUGE tip for fronzen things I was buying. I’m a big tipper and often overtip BUT tips are intended for service, like when someone is a waiter. It’s very off putting when it’s automatically added like that, especially when the business is going so far out of their way to provide service. If you’re really afraid of getting covid, or monkey pox, or whatever, from two minute interactions (mostly outside) then there are tons of ways to still provide good service. It’s just over the top in a way that has drastically changed how easy it is to frequent their location. I really wonder why they even have a storefront at all or how they support it with business practices like this. Big bummer as we all love to support gf/df businesses in a big way. I’d become a frequent customer again if things were to change!

Owner Response

Hi Jessie83673,

I'm sorry you're having trouble shopping with us and aren't happy with our online ordering situation. While we are still taking covid-19 seriously for the health of our immunocompromised patrons (many people with food allergies have other health issues that put them at greater risk), but we are not requiring masking at this time. While we do have a sign up saying "Masks Appreciated" and our staff still masks for the sake of our customers, they are NOT required. You're right, we went from being open until 6pm weekdays to 4pm weekdays, but we have continued to stay open on Saturdays, although we did stay open until 6pm for Thanksgiving pick ups last week. Our hours are adjusted to accommodate our staff and their childcare needs. Our staff makes everything we do possible and so we allow for the option of leaving a tip. I can review our online ordering app's defaults to make sure it is no longer set to a "HUGE" amount, but tips are never required and can always be adjusted or removed entirely. I hope this addresses some of your concerns and I'm so sorry your experience with us feels 1 star.
