GF crust, but the only toppings that are gluten free are the vegies. All the meats have gluten in them
They offer a gluten free crust and even changed gloves when handling my pizza. The have separate sauce and ladle. The downside is the cook it in the same surface as the other pizzas.... They offered to cook it on the side of the oven. Not safe for those who have celiac
I have celiacs and have eaten here several times since moving to Phoenix. The manager knows how to handle the pizza to reduce cross contamination. I usually ask for a gluten free crust they place it on a metal pan and I ask to use the separate sauces. When they bake it I ask to bake it on a metal sheet so it doesn't touch the oven. Every time they changed their gloves for me! Some employees don't know what to do so I ask them to do those things and they are very accommodating. The crust is delicious!
First time was amazing.... second time I ended up sick as a dog. Fine print on menu says not suitable for celiacs... please make that print larger!
As a severe Celiac, pieology is not an option for me. All of the toppings are the same as those put on the normal pizza, and cross contamination is bound to happen whether or not you are able to get fresh toppings, which is nearly impossible. If you are doing gluten free for a diet or are slightly intolerant, then go for it, but if you are at all sensitive don't!
I am an extremely sensitive celiac, and I have to say they did a great job. The young lady that was helping me asked me if It was for diet or sensitivity I told her extremely sensitive celiac and she changed your gloves got new equipment clean the area even got me everything fresh so nothing touched anything else. I don't need a lot of places because I'm worried that I'll get sick but I got to give them props they did a good job. I waited a few days before I reviewed to make sure I didn't get a little after but all good to go.
They get points for having a gluten free pizza, but it's not ok for celiacs because of cooking. When I went in,I asked how they cooked their pizzas and was told it goes directly on the oven surface. There is no separate area in the oven for gluten free. Walked out due to cross contamination issue.
This was fabulous! Tell them before you make your pizza & they have ingredients under the counter so the risk of cross-contamination is lower. Highly recommend!
They were extra careful about cross-contamination. Have separate utensils, sauces and even baked my pizza on a raised tray. And they put as many or as few toppings as you like! Lost 1 star because a GF crust costs $2 extra. That annoys me!! But doesn't stop me from going back!
Turned away (even when I changed my mind to order a salad) because they said they couldn't risk making me sick. Pizzas are cooked without a pan in the same oven as other pizzas and the prep area is covered in flour. Bummed because I LOVED their food before!
I'm astounded this restaurant is considered GF. I was so excited as they prepared my pizza with separate sauce with its own never-touched-wheat ladle. Then they tossed it in the oven on the same surface as the gluten pizzas and sliced with the same slicer. Sorry folks, that's not gluten free!
Not Celiac friendly. See their website for their own cross contamination statement.
As per their website: GLUTEN FREE CRUST - Our pizza crust is made with gluten-free ingredients, however, all of our pizzas are prepared in a common kitchen with the risk of gluten exposure. Pieology does not recommend our gluten-free pizzas for guests with celiac disease. Guests with gluten sensitivities should also exercise caution and judgment when ordering our gluten-free pizzas.
The best pizza!! It tastes like regular pizza. I love how I can create my own pizza.
Gluten free pizza and daiya cheese available. They will change gloves and use separate ingredients from under the counter if you ask. They will either clean a space in the oven or use a little pan if you ask. Good pizza.
Love the GF pizza crust. The employees wash and put on new gloves before preparing the pizza and clean a section of the oven to cook the pizza when you tell them you have an allergy. My husband and daughter have celiac and have not had any problems after eating here. We have been a few times now.
I explained I have celiac and told them I can't have gluten touching. They have special sauces for gf under the counter. They offered to make it on a special GF pan but I watched them take the pan and touch it to the same surface as gluten and then place it back in the stack of the GF pizza pans without cleaning it. I choose not to eat here the staff didn't seem to understand cross contamination.
Adjusting my review after I just went there the other day and AFTER they made my pizza they explained they could no longer put the pizza in the oven on the metal pan. I wish they would have told me before I ordered. Very disappointed as it is too much cross contamination for me. Didn't make me sick at all! When you ask for gluten free they will ask if you want them to change their gloves. I recommend yes. They use sauce and oil from a separate section with separate brushes. The cheese and the toppings coming from the same section as the rest of pizzas I think they used their hands to grab toppings so there may be crossed contamination. They will also ask if you want to leave your pizza on the metal thing they have it on. I did that as the flour pizzas lie in the open flame oven without anything. The pizza will take longer to cook on the metal but to me it was worth it to not touch the same surface. I am not celiac so idk if I recommend it to celiacs because I cannot imagine there isn't crossed contamination but I think they give a good effort considering it's a pizza joint. Plus the food was awesome!
Not Celiac friendly. They are no longer allowed to put the pizza in the oven on a separate pan. Though this is on a separate side of the oven they brush, it doesn't seem safe. This was described to me after I ordered my pizza, and I wound up just eating the toppings. Would be fine for a non-celiac person, or someone who's just sensitive.
Gluten free crust and daiya cheese available. Prepared in the same area and cooked in the same oven as the other pizzas but they were very accommodating. They offered to clean the prep area, wear new gloves, and used fresh ingredients from under the counter from different containers. I asked for them to cook it on a pan. Ask for the manager if in doubt.
I felt safe eating here. Your pizza is prepared right in front of you. The employees changed their gloves before making my food. The gluten free crust and pizza sauces are kept separate so there is verity little chance for cross contamination. All of the toppings are gluten free except for meatballs and Alfredo sauce!
It's always refreshing when the staff are knowledgable and careful about food allergies. As previously stated, offered to change gloves and use different utensils. Vegan cheese was covered to make sure cross contamination did not occur. Very friendly, helpful, and affordable!
Yummy . Had the most delicious gluton free pizza here today . The crust was just right & u can pick your toppings. My husband & I shared one with different toppings on each half . The guy who served us was very informative, friendly & professional. We will be back . Highly recommend here .
