I’ve come in here twice after hearing all the amazing reviews and twice I haven’t felt safe enough to stay and order. I asked the guy at the front about gluten free options and he told me they have gluten free crust. I asked if the toppings are gluten free and his answer was “Yeah, I think so. They should be.” Not super convincing. I asked him to ask his manager or kitchen staff for a list of safe toppings and could never get a straight answer from anyone. I really wanted to try this place but the staff just doesn’t seem to have an understanding of what gluten even is or what it can be found in.
Pitfire pizza is an AWESOME little restaurant. They were very accommodating and the pizza was amazing!
Went once and loved it: had no problems with the gluten free pizza or the drinks we got. they made sure to ask questions and make note of my gluten allergy so it was all good. went back a second time however and got sick from the gluten free- maybe it was because their oven was backed up on the night we decided to go, so they couldn’t be as careful? not sure, but not really willing to risk it again.
So I have celiac disease and I ordered recently through Uber eats. It said that they have GF pizza and it has had good reviews so I checked off it was an allergy and placed my order. The pizza itself was delicious — unfortunately I didn’t realize until partway eating that someone had written on the box in sharpie that they cross contaminate no matter what. So instead of cancelling and not taking the order, they charged me and wrote a note on the box??
If you have celiac do NOT eat here
