I don't have celiac. I am gluten intolerant. I asked for GF and they made my pizza in the back. It was pretty good for GF pizza (I typically don't like gf pizza). I would definitely recommend this place. Toppings are yummy. Pizza is fresh.
This place was amazing! Pizza was delicious! They have utensils specifically for allergies and avoid cross contamination completely. They were super nice and friendly!
I didn't even try the gluten free pizza. As I came in, I saw the setup of the ingredients. I've noticed that the workers were all wearing gloves and touching the ingredients and the regular dough. CROSS contamination ! I asked the manager how they are preparing the gluten free pizza and she replied we are changing the gloves! The counter is full of gluten as well as all the ingredients that were touched. They should not even advertise their gluten free pizza!!! BEWARE!!!
The staff here is super friendly and the pizzas are delicious! The reason I didn't give a 5 star is because although they have gluten-free pizzas, as someone with Celiacs Disease (extremely sensitive to even a little bit of gluten), there is cross contamination here. I tried 2 of their super delicious gluten free pizzas only to have my symptoms flare up again. After trying to figure how this may have happened, I thought back and could only think of a 2 reasons: 1) the sauce could have cross contamination from putting the sauce and spreading it with the same spoon/laddle on a reg pizza base and then a gluten free pizza base 2) Although, when handling gluten free pizzas, the server wears new gloves, the same toppings have been previously touched by other servers when making non-gluten free pizzas...therefore, contaminating the toppings with flour/wheat from the reg pizza dough For THOSE WITHOUT CELIAC'S OR GLUTEN INTOLERANCE, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! The pizzas are creative and very delicious
We ordered the classic and margherita. Both were excellent. The crust has a good flavor, chew and doesn't fall apart. Neither of us got sick and the price is so cheap compared to anywhere we have gotten gf pizza in the past. It is only $1 more for gluten free, so two pizzas came in just under $21!
I have gone here since they have opened. I have had no issues with cross contamination. However, on 2-16-18 I felt very uncomfortable with the preparer. I feel like with a new set of enployees often the GF ALLERGY is NOT taken seriously!! Just pay attention.
This is my go-to place for pizza! When you say you have an allergy, they change gloves, use separate sauce containers/bottles, the works. They just need to be careful when sliding the pizza into the stone oven on the tray...if it slides a bit off the tray, they have to redo it, but when it happened to me, they remade the pizza no problem and apologized. Great customer service and delicious thin crust pizza.
This place has the most unbelievable GF practices - let them know you’re celiac and you are set! Everything is kept separate and you can create your own pizza (which tastes amazing). It goes on a special tray in the wood oven and they use a special cutter when it comes out. I have eaten here several times and absolutely love it! So safe.
This place is amazing. It has a great concept. The staff is nice the restaurant is clean and best of all you can build your own pizza. They have gluten- free crust and cheese available. And a HUGE assortments of veggies ( and vegan sausage) to choose from.
My wife and I are both gluten-free and tried this place. Very young crowd basically high-school-kid-food. If you're in Green Acres go to BJ's for much better pizza.
A GF pizza that actually tastes like pizza! Also, without my asking, the manager changed his gloves, used sauce from a squeeze bottle (instead of using a ladle that had been rubbed on regular pizza crusts. He commented that his whole family is GF, so he takes it very seriously. very happy with PizzaRev!
When we first started going, the staff was very careful and courteous about our daughter’s celiac disease and she had no problems. It was the only pizza place we trusted. But lately they seem to have new staff that aren’t as careful. Even though they follow the glove changing procedures and put the crust on a separate tray, the counters and food prep areas have been covered in flour and when we say that makes us nervous, they don’t seem to care. We’ve left before ordering and won’t go back unless we see the original manager again and cleaner prep space. Be careful if you’re really sensitive. I think there may have been a staffing turnover.
A fast food pizza restaurant- all pizzas made to order. GF options available and very clearly labeled. Tell them you have celiac disease, and they’ll change gloves and prepare your gf pizza on an “allergy plate”: a metal plate that your pizza cooks upon in oven to keep it separate from the others. Not a separate oven but this seems like a solid compromise. Toppings are from a Subway-style buffet counter so make sure your server changes gloves when assembling your pizza, and if you’re very concerned about possible contamination ask for selections from a fresh untouched batch of tomatoes, pepperoni, etc. They seem to be clued up, but as anywhere, some risk. The good thing here is that you can see the whole kitchen process.

Just ordered so haven't tasted it yet. They have a gluten free pizza crust. It's $10.65. They did ask if it was preference or allergy. When I said allergy they got a special pan and ladle. So seem very aware of cross contamination. Excited to have another pizza option near by!
I go here at least once a week for amazing gluten free and Celiac friendly pizza! It is not pricey as they do not charge for toppings, just the price of the crust! Also, $6 on Tuesdays! ($7 if you're gluten free but still a bargain)
I was hesitant to eat here at first. But after visiting the California Ave location, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they take extra precautions to eliminate cross contamination as much as possible. They cooked my pizza on a gluten free mat and changed gloves when preparing my pizza. I was also happy when I found out they have vegan cheese. I will definitely visit this location again!
Good but a little pricy. They offer both a gluten free preferred option or Celiac option where they clean everything before cooking.
They keep all gf items separate, including the sauce. And it is delicious.
I have eaten here several times and never gotten sick. They also offer GF meatballs as toppings which is really nice and they have vegan cheese. I can't eat at most GF pizza places because they don't offer dairy free cheese. Their pizzas are really delicious and when you ask for GF Crust they ask you specifically if it's a preference of allergy. For those with allergy they will change out their gloves, get new ladels for the sauce and take the sauce from a separate squeeze bottle that has not been cross contaminated rather than the main container they get everyone else's from. Your pizza also gets prepped right in front of you while you choose the toppings on a fresh, clean new pan that hasn't been cross-contaminated. Largely this business gets it right. GF is not only about the ingredients, but the preparation and cross contamination issues are taken seriously when it comes to Gluten. One important note, however, I have seen cross contamination between ingredients. I have seen shreds of cheese contaminating other ingredients. So be aware.
My son has Celiac, and this is one of the few places in town he can eat. They have GF crusts, and if you tell them you need a "Gluten Free Allergy" pizza, someone washes their hands & puts on new gloves, the sauces are in separate bottles, they have different ladles, they dig in the back of the cheese bin to avoid cross-contamination & they place the pizza on a plate in the oven. We eat there weekly & my son has never been "glutened". There is an up charge for the GF pizza, but you get all the toppings you want for that single price. I highly recommend it!
The gluten free pizza was great! Go to their website and press the menu button then press the nutrition info button and press the allergy button and you will find many sides and sauces which are gluten free. I have soy allergies and was able to enter that in the portal and found which sauces I could have. The employee washed hands and changed gloves and stayed with my pizza to the end. The crust (looked like udi's) was stored separately, the sauce was in a bottle, and they would take meat etc from the bottom of the pan. If you are extremely sensitive this may not be the place for you.
We have eaten here twice. A family member has Celiacs and they are always mindful of her allergy. They ask if your GF order is preference or allergy, and take extra care and use a separate pan/gloves/utensils for allergies when preparing our pizzas. Great place for our family! Tuesday's are $6 pizza nights!
This place is horribly cross contaminated. They touch the dough with their gloves and then all the toppings so even if they change their gloves, the food is contaminated. Next they put the pizza in proximity to the other pizzas in the oven and I can almost bet they pulled my pizza out and cut it with tools they used on the other pizzas. I had a horrible and immediate reaction. I hate when they say they are "allergy" aware and yet no one gets it one bit.
5 stars! I have celiac and am sensitive to cross contamination and didn't get sick here. They changed gloves, used separate sauce, and cooked the pizza on a tray on a separate part of the oven. The people were nice and the pizza was crispy and delicious!
We loved this place and ate there several times while we were in San Diego. The servers ask if you are ordering gf due to preference or allergy, then handle accordingly. We never had any reactions, and the food was delicious! The crust was well cooked- never raw or dry, and the orders were always accurately filled. We particularly enjoyed building our own pizza with 2 sauces - spicy Marinara and regular red sauce. You have to specify that you want double sauce, not just mixed - but the result is tangy, moist, and delicious!
Pizza was so good. The crust was cross as it should be. They have special trained stuff who makes the pizza. U trained staff is not allowed to do the gf ones. They use new gloves and put a metal plate in the oven to heat it up while they prepare your pizza on another plate with a paper underneath. Then they shove the pizza from one plate to the hot one in the oven. If you say you have an allergy they seem to act more carefully
im not sure if my pizza was safe as they messed it up at least once and it took forever. the pizza slid off the pan on to the oven ovens it had to rebuilt. in fact the person whom ordered aGF pizza got hers well before me. the staff looked like they were all new, confused about cooking, cutting and serving our pizza. the pizza WAS good.
The gluten free pizza dough is excellent. The meatballs were gluten free as well. The preparers were very sensitive to cross contamination and changed their gloves and were sure not to contaminate the toppings. They had fresh vegetable toppings. I will definitely go back!
