Fried food for the first time in years! Waitress assured me that all the fryers are dedicated GF because they only use rice flour as a coating. I have Celiacs and always ask a ton of questions (and even then am nervous). Servers were patient and helpful. I couldn't help myself from ordering delicious chicken tenders and onion rings
Staff was knowledgeable, great gluten free bun, all around good place to go.
Delicious! Gluten free buns for your burgers with plenty of gf side choices (I had tater tots!). There’s also a solid selection of other gf entrees if you’re not feeling like a burger. Oh! Gf beer & cider, one was even a local brew!
Absolutely delicious food and lots of options for Celiacs! The server ensured me that they prepare gluten free food in a safe environment. I will definitely eat here again when I visit DC. I did not get sick, awesome environment, walking distance from the mall, and so yummy!
Got cross contaminated pretty badly here
Yummy options, including rare treats for a Celiac! I had a hamburger and fries for the first time in a very long time! They said their fryers are dedicated GF. The staff was nice. Since I ordered to go, the kitchen bill was attached to my order. In capitalized letters at the top was CELIAC, along with Gluten Allergy in red and gluten free in capital letters as part of my order. As a Celiac, I am grateful for this attention to detail and precaution. I’ll definitely be going again!
Lots of gluten free choices, and my kids were able to try things they had never had. Knowledgeable staff and super yummy.
The staff are great, they have a dedicated fryer and tons of GF options. This was a great find. The GF onion rings were a great treat.
Excellent food and so many gluten free options on sides... tater tots, onion rings. Not great service
Wow, what a great GF food option in DC. I wish there was one in Columbus. I asked about their fryer and they informed me it was dedicated t avoid cross contamination. With that I ordered the fish and chips which I have not ever found GF. It has been close to 20 years since I had fish n’chips. I have celiac and I had now problems after eating at this restaurant.
The reviews are right, this place rocks! Server knew about allergies, and was able to guide us to a safe option quickly. No issues at all, and super delicious food!
Great place for coeliacs but I was accidentally brought fries covered in a dusting of cheese on my “dairy free & gf” order, so that was a bit concerning
The staff was clear to explain their safety measures and super friendly. They have a dedicated fryer and gf onion rings. Great find!
Wow! Yummy! Staff was knowledgeable and Manager checked in. Great food and fryer was GF
One of the best burgers I’ve ever had since I’ve been gluten free. Waiter was VERY nice and knew exactly what I was asking and assured me that everything was great. Almost went there for two meals that day! 10/10 would recommend for celiacs
The food was amazing! We would definitely eat here again. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful.
Dedicated fryer. As soon as we identified our daughter as celiac the manager came to our table to give us options on food. Excellent service, very attentive and we all had gf dishes. Onion rings, wings, chicken and fish sandwiches were all excellent. Will visit again before we leave town
Almost everything on the menu is gluten free - fish and chips, fries, buns, etc! Our server was very knowledgeable and everything was delicious! Steps away from the metro was a plus :)
Salad and fries were great. Service amazing. They explain all the gf options.
I had a burger with bun and fries! Both were delicious. The bun was even good and didn’t fall apart.
Great service, great food. Can’t wait to come back for another meal. Kids are picky and they loved it.
I had fish and chips which was awesome!! I think everything that’s fried is gluten free. The waitress was super knowledgeable. The reason I gave it 4 stars is just because I was really excited to try the onion rings but they were undercooked and super doughy. Probably just a one time thing and I’d still recommend it because I didn’t get sick and the fish was amazing.
Amazing!!! Options for GF...such as fish and chips, onion rings, burgers WITH BUNS, shepard's pie, desert. Very cautious with cross contamination! Worth a trip. For thr bourbon fans that have shelves of it! (Hubby is NOT celiac and most alcohol ppm is low).
My daughter had the chicken strips and fries and was thrilled that it was all made in a dedicated fryer! The burgers are delicious. The fries weren’t particularly good and be aware that the sautéed kale actually has shaved Brussels sprouts (which I love but some may not).
Delicious food! Lots of GF options! Definitely recommend!
They had GF chicken tenders for my daughter!!!!
Don't know if it the fact I was hungry, but this place is the best I have had all week. Everything just about can be made gluten free. Great service as well.
This place has the best gluten free menu. Tons of options. They even had fish and chips that were gluten free!
Good burger place. I personally didn’t care much for the waiter we got the last time I was there. When I tried to talk to him about the food being safe for me to eat he was dismissive and stated they serve gluten free all the time. Didn’t get sick but haven’t gone back.
Gluten free fryer! Great burger and fries.
Outstanding food. Best GF burger I have ever had. Manager came and talked to us, about their practices, very knowledgeable about Gluten Free. Dedicated fryer. Will go back!!!!!
My daughter and I have celiac disease. We decided to try this place out based on the reviews on Find Me Gluten Free. The food is AMAZING. I opted to not have a gluten free bun with my burger and got the blue cheese burger. I'm just not a fan of gluten free buns -they seem to be more trouble than they're worrh. It was amazing and was presented beautifully. My daughter's gluten free bun was probably the most normal looking gluten free bun I've seen. I had the chipotle fries and my daughter had the sweet potato fries. They also had our favorite hard cider. The staff seemed knowledgeable about cross contamination. Neither of us got sick after eating here.
So so so so so good. We came on the 4th of July, so it was extremely busy, but the kind hostess was willing to move tables around since we came specially for the gluten free food. It was amazing. I’ve never felt so full since I went gluten free, I’ve never enjoyed a meal so much, and I’ve never had such a good burger (gluten free or normal). The bun was amazing, the meat was incredible, and the fries (made in a dedicated fryer) were fantastic. On top of that, the atmosphere was good and our waitress was very nice. This is a must if you’re in DC!
Absolutely loved this place! I got the deluxe bacon cheeseburger and Parmesan truffle fries and felt great afterwards. Almost the entire menu can be done gluten free and I even got to share my boyfriends onion rings! Will definitely be back!
Possibly best gluten free menu for casual dining I’ve seen in 15 years being gluten free. Amazing!
Waiter asked if gf was for allergy or preference because they change gloves and take extra precautions if allergy. Dedicated fryer for gf french fries and gf onion rings. Highly recommend.
We were in D.C. for a few days and had to come back a second night because the food was so delicious. The onion rings are amazing! You would never guess they were GF. The first night I had the fish and chips which were good but they are seasoned with Old Bay which was a little strong for me but still good. The second night I had the fish sandwich which the best GF bun and tarter sauce helped to hide some of the Old Bay seasoning.
Amazing food, knowledgeable staff. My super-sensitive celiac son enjoyed a great meal with no issues.
Most knowledgeable staff I have ever met. They really understand celiac disease and cross contamination. The food is really good and they have a dedicated fryer, so I could eat fish and chips. I've been here three times and didn't get sick.
Had the gf onion rings- first in 11 years! They were delicious as was the kale salad! Highly recommend! I’m celiac and sensitive and didn’t get sick!!
Amazing!! Best onion rings I’ve had gluten free or not!!
Such a great place to eat! All the fryers are dedicated gluten-free and all the items are clearly marked on the menu! Friendly and knowledgeable staff. The bartender, Fawn, was crushing it behind the bar. Will return for sure!
While the jalapeño poppers weren’t the breaded gift from God I was hoping for, the fish and chips more than made up for it. This is GF fried heaven. Will be visiting again. Just be sure to tell the waitstaff you’re GF for medical reasons!
Lots of GF options. Amazing burger on a GF bun and fantastic veggie burgers for the kids. Love the sweet potato fries too. Everything was absolutely delicious!
The food here was so good and i was so happy they had a dedicated fryer!!! I got a cheese burger with gf bun even though almost everything on the menu was gf!! If you’re in Washington DC I would 100% recommend going here:)
LOVED the gluten free fried fish and fries. We also had the gluten free shepherd's pie, burgers with gluten free buns, onion rings, and kids chicken tenders. They have an awesome gluten free chocolate cake dessert that it like a homemade hostess cupcake.
Wait staff knew their stuff. Servers confirmed every GF order as they put it down on the table. We will be back.
Great place. Great food. Great gluten free options. Dedicated fryer. Was able to eat chicken wings, fries, and onion rings.
The food was very good. They even have gf onion rings. Pretty good ones.
Worth the wait! Everyday there was a long wait to get in here. We went at an off time when the wait was shorter and figured out why everyone was waiting around to eat there. My son and I agreed best blue cheese burger ever combo of Bourbon BBQ sauce, caramelized onions and blue cheese was so good ! My daughter who has celiac enjoyed real chicken tenders fries not grilled and delicious French fries. My husband has the dish and chips which was outstanding also GF. They don’t have any wheat flour in the back so no worries about Cross-contamination except for the hamburger buns. They seem to have a pretty good protocol for that and the gluten-free bun was delicious on my burger. No one got sick a real treat for gluten free folks.
By far one of the best restaurants I've eaten at since being diagnosed celiac 4 years ago. They had soooo many options. They use rice flours for there breading and have separate fryers. You can have almost anything but there non gf hamburger buns....I had a ground pork burger w tots....food was amazing!!!!
Unfortunately, not all food that is labeled GF is actually GF. Beware of the wings. My sister wasn't notified until after she ate some of them that they weren't GF. Even though both the hostess and waitress were informed of three of the party having celiac. Needless to say, my sister spent the remainder of her birthday extremely uncomfortable and sick to her stomach. Beyond that, the food was good. Fried foods are made with rice flour which is why there are a lot of GF options.
GF friendly, but dairy-free folks note that the onion rings are made with buttermilk. (Sigh) Noisy, so if you want to converse, sit in the section under the low roof. Also beware of the nighttime highway repair this year (2018-19) and take alternate routes after 9 p.m.
I’m celiac and have eaten here safely many times. I get a simple tavern burger (no sauce) in the grass with fries, so I can’t speak to the quality of gf buns but I am confident they are careful about cross contact. The food is heavy pub food so I have to be careful not to overdo it, but it’s very good for what it is. It’s one of the few places in the area where I feel safe eating.
So many delicious gf items. My fav is the fish and chips. Be sure to ask for any salad w/o bread. The salads are noted as gf on menu, but they ALWAYS put garlic bread on top of salad. Quick to fix any issue and I've never had a problem with the service.
Split burger and fish and chips. Both were fabulous. GF cider on tap plus good selection of GF beers and ciders. Staff very knowledgeable. Asked if allergy and clearly marked order for kitchen. Great GF dessert, which I took home and enjoyed later as it was rich. I am a celiac and will be back.
This place was so awesome. They only use rice flower for their breading so everything fried is naturally gluten free. I had the Parmesan garlic wings and truffle oil French fries and they were amazing. The kids menu was great because it already had marked gluten free items - so rare. My daughter had the gluten free fish sticks and tater tots and loved it! Two thumbs up from the whole family (even the not gluten free ones)! Highly recommend!
My food was amazing. I had an awesome burger on a GF bun that was really delicious. The waitress was really helpful as well. She said they mostly use GF items in their kitchen but some are not so they mark the menu. I had a great experience. I would eat there again in a heartbeat.
All their fried foods are GF by default. Their main fryer is dedicated GF. They have a side fryer that is for gluten-containing items. I had onion rings -- they were thick, heavy-battered, and delicious. It was a wonderful treat after going without for so long. I also had the fried chicken salad -- because hey, fried chicken, finally! -- which was good, but next time I would request the dressing on the side (personal preference). Best of all, I had no digestive issues. So many things on the menu I want to try -- can't wait to go back.
Best restaurant in the world to go to if you have celiac. Almost everything on the menu is gluten free. The mangers deliver everything to you if you have a severe allergy. They even have gluten free chicken fingers and onion rings! And the food is AMAZING!!
My new go-to place in Fairfield for great fried foods and burgers. As others have mentioned, with a dedicated fryer you can get truly gluten-free, Celiac friendly fries and amazing onion rings. Beyond that, the burgers are truly delicious, with a true beefy flavor no matter what style you order. Staff is also knowledgeable and helpful.
