I had recent luck while at my boyfriends Maine lake house Columbus Day weekend and everyone wanted pizza for dinner. I am usually skeptical of unknown eateries especially having celiac but when you’re in Western Maine your dining options become far and few, especially those that accommodate gluten free options. I’m not sure about prep space or conditions at the restaurant as we got take out and I can’t recall if the pizza was cooked on a metal tin as I have seen some gf pizzas prepped that way. The mushroom, bacon, and cheese gf pizza I got was tasty, the crust held up for a gf pizza shell, and I thankfully I did not get sick or react to the pizza. I am happy to know that when at the lake house I now have a place to get gluten free pizza.

Gf pizza and gf bread , I’ve gotten burgers here multiple times and it’s basic but pretty good. The pizza doesn’t taste great but it’s an option

I was so excited to find this restaurant on our drive home from vacation and see on website it’s the same owners Poor People’s Pub on Block Island (Rhode Island). That restaurant is my absolute favorite on the island. The menu at the NH location is unfortunately nothing like the other location. They have pizza and GF bread and nothing is marked GF on menu. I got a turkey melt which ended up being an open sandwich and I questioned if they just ran out of bread. Sandwich was ok and came with plain potato chips. I should also add I wasn’t asked if I had an allergy

They offer gluten free pizza and gluten free bread. The pizza was delicious and the crust was amazing. My daughter had the turkey melt which she said was very good. I grilled them about their kitchen procedures and the owner came out to ask to make sure none of us were allergic to soy as they spray their pans. We were up there visiting family and would go back there again. Family friendly pub.

If I did not have celiac, they'd get a 5 star review. Unfortunately, the menu is very gluten-heavy. The prices are very low, the staff great, it's very family-friendly, and the hours are great but I can't pay $17 for a 10" gluten-free pizza because the only other thing on the menu is salad. The chef has tried working with gluten-free flour for gravy and it didn't go well. I am a gluten-free baker and left a bag of my flour mix, which works just like regular flour, and he said he just didn't want to bother with trying to make things gluten-free. I've basically stopped going.
Unfortunately this is not celiac safe at all. The staff was very friendly, however not knowledgeable about gluten. The server asked me if I could “eat wraps or do those contain gluten too?” I’m not as sensitive to cross contamination as others and I was violently ill after eating here. I would avoid this restaurant.

Staff is quite familiar with Celiacs. Wife had one of their famous lobster rolls in lettuce leafs. Wonderful experience as always!!

We eat here a couple times a year and my daughter has never had an issue. The selection is sufficient and her defaults are the loaded pizza and the nacho plate. And don't forget a strawberry lemonade or 3...
