Not many options for celiac, no dedicated fryer for fries.
Twice staff has been unable to provide a GF menu, just an allergen list, and suggested I instead look on the internet for their corporate website to see my options. Very limited options, no appetizers. But food was properly prepared and I had no reaction.
Awesome food that is gluten free! I have eaten here twice now with no issues. They have an allergen menu, but still make sure to ask about some of the foods that are listed as having wheat. I found that some foods were listed as having wheat ingredients, but didnt look like they did, so the manager (who was awesome and very helpful) brought me the full ingredients lists of all the things used in the dish and I was able to verify that this dish was actually gluten free. So if something doesn't look like it has wheat, ask the manager. She is very nice and will help you make sure. Oh, and tell them you have an allergy and they will be careful in the kitchen also.
I have had really good experiences with Red Lobster before... however this was not. We got glutened, nothing we had should have been a problem, so I expect they didn't follow good procedure here in prepping our meals. Beyond that it was just very slow.
I ran out of the restaurant crying! I told them I have celiac disease and they told me they have an allergy menu. They presented me with a huge binder full of spread sheets. It was overwhelming and I couldn't navigate it. It was unbelievable that they would present such because it was impossible to read it and determine what to order. I was so frustrated and the server had no response. I got upset and ended up tearing up and running out to the car before causing a scene. My husband left a tip for the water we drank and we left. The disease is very difficult to deal with and things like this make it so much worse. The staff was ignorant and the company clearly doesn't care about guests like me.
Good gluten free option for seafood. The waitress was very knowledgeable. You have to read the allergen list,but they make it user friendly. It does say french fries are GF but they are not. No dedicated fryer. Some of the meals are not listed as GF, only because they are served with rice pilaf. if you order without it you will be fine.
Food was good! They have a great allergen menu. It's online. Have the manager help you. You choose the allergens and it helps you pick your food. (The paper menu does suck so I'd suggest the online allergen menu website). No gluten free pasta or the like, but you can at least know what doesn't have gluten (or soy, etc). The waitress was a little shocked at the various allergens in the food.
Very attentive and understanding of celiac disease. Allergen menu very detailed for all allergens and easy to follow. Price was not high for gf. Server verified everything with the kitchen and told me how my food would be prepared. Meal was very good and I was confident of how safe it was for me. Excellent service.
It's dangerous to eat here for Gf food. It all depends on the servers and the chef you got for the day. Recently, we got a pretty bad experience for GF order of my husband. He ordered salmon without sauce and absolutely without rice but the server brought the dish with sauce and rice. We pointed out the problem and he asked if he could bring a clean plate so we can move the fish away from rice? At the moment, you know there is no chance he has the clue about food allergies. Apparently, he is lack of training in the food business. We decided to pack the food to go and toss it later because we didn't want to get the kid fired for the mess up. We are not going back there for sure!
The culinary manager had Celiac and he came to our table as soon as we got there. He said regardless of the allergen list, he could make most items on the menu GF for me. He said the fries were not in a dedicated fryer buy that he eats them almost every day and it never bothers him. After I ordered he went over my order with the server and modified it so it would be GF. Best part--the cheesecake is GF.
Waiter had no knowledge of celiacs or gluten free. He kept bringing us bread......two baskets of bread towering in the middle of our table even thought I kept explaining we couldn't eat wheat. No precautions were taken to insure our safety. I am so ill today....we will never return.
absolutely awful, got glutened. I ordered a salad no croutons, coleslaw, broiled scallops and shrimp scampi. and cheesecake. all were listed gf on the allergen handout. but I got glutened really bad. not sure which thing or all of it was the culprit. I don't recommend this restaurant.
You can get almost all seafood here unless it's fried! Great scampi. Also...the cheesecake is GF bc there's no crust and it's delish!
We are a family with two gluten intolerant people, but not celiac. The only GF items on the kids menu were the snow crab legs, the broiled fish, and the fries. Son got shrimp cocktail and fries. I got the combo with salmon and snow crab legs. been here a few times. when I ask for a GF menu I get the tabular print out of everything they carry with a allergens list. Not a fan of those because they are overwhelming, but for someone who is avoiding multiple allergens that may be helpful. Would say the restaurant is not celiac friendly. My salad had a few small pieces of croutons in it, as if they just picked the croutons off before serving it to me. :/
For a chain restaurant, it would be great to print up a gluten free menu instead of handing you pages of their allergen list. It wasn't too hard to find what had gluten and what didn't. My daughter got shrimp cocktail (which tasted weird), shrimp scampi, snow crab legs and a baked potato. She liked everything but the shrimp cocktail and felt fine after eating here. We would visit again so the non-celiac people in our family can eat here again. Fortunately, the shrimp scampi and crab legs are favorites of my daughters. Now if only they could make their biscuits gluten free!! Too much to ask, I know.
My husband and I went here for his birthday because he wanted crab legs. He's celiac, and we told our waitress (who rudely said everything on the menu has gluten). Luckily, we have been to this location so knew better. We by chance ended up with a new server who was really knowledgeable and gave us a allergen menu. They also have a really easy to use menu online where you can select your allergies and it'll tell you what you can eat. The manager, Joe, stopped by our table and said that his kitchen is really dedicated and cares about allergens. That they change their gloves and clean the work areas really well. We have eaten here multiple times w no issues. We stick to the safer menu options (crab legs, baked potato, shrimp nachos, shrimp scampi) and all delicious! Thanks for the help, joe!
The manager always comes out to the table to make sure she explained everything to me and what I can and cannot have. She assures me that they will do everything in the kitchen possible to make sure I have no cross-contamination and have the best experience. I have never gotten sick after eating there and the food is delicious!
