dedicated facility. amazing food. Our server was having an off night but we all have those. this place is small send it is LOUD in there. we were there on a Thursday night and could hear not one thing we were saying to each other. so keep that in mind.
This restaurant is terrible with other allergies. It is completely gluten free so I checked it out, and they wouldn’t accommodate for any of my other allergy’s at all. The kitchen said they were too busy to cook something separate from where they cook the rice meals, and I have a rice allergy. So I walked away from this restaurant after an hour without eating today. Very disappointed in the service and meals today.
I've eaten here several times -- am very sensitive to cross contamination, and this is the only restaurant in NYC I've eaten at in the past few years. I love their chicken caesar salad and the homemade bread, and I've had the calamari and the profiteroles as well. Very grateful to have this place when we want to eat out. Have never had any issues after a meal here.
I absolutely hate to do this because we were so excited to try this place. Came to town for the weekend and wanted to give it a try. My daughter is Celiac. Within two hours of eating there my daughter was vomiting in the street and doubled over in pain and the day was ruined. She was absolutely glutened. Don’t know how it happened, but something was contaminated. She ate a hamburger on gf bun, French fries that were allegedly fried in a gf fryer and the bread served for the table. They assured us nothing in the restaurant had any gluten. Unfortunately, my daughter has been glutened before so we know what it looks like when it happens. She at nothing else that day that could have gotten her sick. Perhaps it was cross contamination of some sort with their ingredients. No question it was absolutely from the meal, thought Eat at your own risk if you are very sensitive.
The risotto is very expensive, the dish was very small and the taste was so-so, we had to add a lot of salt because it didn’t have much taste. Definitely not worth the high price. We also had a bad experience with the waiter (which looks more like the owner) he had a very pushy attitude and kept trying convincing us to order many things we didn’t want like wine and drinks. By his aggressive attitude we felt uncomfortable. When we ordered a dessert he said we should take 2 deserts and not only one and we said only wish to have one dessert. Even after ordering a desert he kept pushing us getting two desserts by saying it’s such a small desert and won’t be enough. the desert by the way is pretty big and not small at all. Lastly, when we ordered the risotto, he suggested that we can add mushroom to the dish and we agreed, unfortunately when we asked for the check we were surprised to find out that we have been charged for extra $5 because of the mushrooms without any notice from him/from the menu. It was $30 for such a small dish (I was still hungry after that and went somewhere else to eat). In a city like NY which has so many gluten free options I wouldn’t compromise on this place.
I have celiac and a good friend told me to try this amazing place for their risotto. Absolutely amazing gluten free food! From the bread on the table, to the appetizer, entree and dessert! I did not get sick and would go back in a heart beat! I wish I lived closer! Definitely recommend!!
