I've eaten here several times -- am very sensitive to cross contamination, and this is the only restaurant in NYC I've eaten at in the past few years. I love their chicken caesar salad and the homemade bread, and I've had the calamari and the profiteroles as well. Very grateful to have this place when we want to eat out. Have never had any issues after a meal here.

I absolutely hate to do this because we were so excited to try this place. Came to town for the weekend and wanted to give it a try. My daughter is Celiac. Within two hours of eating there my daughter was vomiting in the street and doubled over in pain and the day was ruined. She was absolutely glutened. Don’t know how it happened, but something was contaminated. She ate a hamburger on gf bun, French fries that were allegedly fried in a gf fryer and the bread served for the table. They assured us nothing in the restaurant had any gluten. Unfortunately, my daughter has been glutened before so we know what it looks like when it happens. She at nothing else that day that could have gotten her sick. Perhaps it was cross contamination of some sort with their ingredients. No question it was absolutely from the meal, thought Eat at your own risk if you are very sensitive.

Visited 20 May 2018. Everything is GF. It was mid-day, so just had appetizers of arancini and calamari. Was very good, and wished I was hungry enough to order risotto and dessert - next time!

Pretty good. Risotto was yum. Bruschetta really tasty but the calamari wasn't the greatest.

The risotto is very expensive, the dish was very small and the taste was so-so, we had to add a lot of salt because it didn’t have much taste. Definitely not worth the high price. We also had a bad experience with the waiter (which looks more like the owner) he had a very pushy attitude and kept trying convincing us to order many things we didn’t want like wine and drinks. By his aggressive attitude we felt uncomfortable. When we ordered a dessert he said we should take 2 deserts and not only one and we said only wish to have one dessert. Even after ordering a desert he kept pushing us getting two desserts by saying it’s such a small desert and won’t be enough. the desert by the way is pretty big and not small at all. Lastly, when we ordered the risotto, he suggested that we can add mushroom to the dish and we agreed, unfortunately when we asked for the check we were surprised to find out that we have been charged for extra $5 because of the mushrooms without any notice from him/from the menu. It was $30 for such a small dish (I was still hungry after that and went somewhere else to eat). In a city like NY which has so many gluten free options I wouldn’t compromise on this place.

This restaurant has great food, whether you have to eat GF or not. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious. It is nice to know everything is GF, so there is no explaining to do. It is small, so make sure you have a reservation.

In a city (or even neighborhood) with so many GF safe options, Risotteria Melotti missed the mark for me. High marks for safety, atmosphere and friendliness. The food was only so-so, especially for the price. It's not on my list of places to seek out when I'm in town, but it'll do in a pinch.

Loved that they serve GF breadsticks and rice cakes before the meal! The restaurant is 100% gluten free, and very yummy. The risotto is rich and a bit salty, but the arrancini (fried rice balls) are delicious. You can substitute rice for GF rice pasta in any meal on the menu, and the desserts are delicious.

I took a group of friends a couple of weeks ago. I am celiac but no one else in my party is gluten free. Everyone loved the meal, including the couple who has spent 6 weeks of the past 15 summers in Italy. The restaurant was comfortable, that staff was friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. What more could you ask for?

Absolutely wonderful. A quaint little place that was very accommodating for a person with mobility problems. The food was perfect - I had the Pollo, bacon e asparagi. It was brought to the able fresh and hot, creamy sauce with tender pieces of chicken and asparagus. And if anything could eclipse that, the tiramisiu would be it. I haven't had tiramisiu since my celiac diagnosis, and this was better than any I'd had pre-diagnosis. I recommend it and this restaurant to anyone eating sans gluten. And with Risotteria Melotti's claim of being 100% gluten-free, it's a wonderful place to eat a lovely meal without fear of gastric erosion.

Tried this last night - and it was the best evening out we have had since 2 of our children were diagnosed with Celiacs this over the summer. The bread in particular was delicious - yet gluten free. The food and atmosphere were great. A little too expensive for regular family nights but we will definitely return for special occasions.
