The Rite Place

Went to the Rite Place with my husband, who is from Allouez. He said that it’s a community stable and was excited to see that it had a review here! We had to try it! They do have a gluten free menu, but it is very limited (and I don’t know how much I trust all the items listed; gravy on mashed potatoes for example).

I had the chicken salad on lettuce and a baked potato. Our server was very friendly and helpful. Our food and drinks came out quickly.

A popular Friday night fish fry destination. Although I could not partake of a traditional Wisconsin Lake Michigan perch dinner , the restaurant has a gluten free menu. I chose a tenderloin with baked potato and green beans. The waitress assured me of kitchen protocols to avoid cross contamination. When my meal arrived, I had a dinner roll on my plate. I avoided eating anything it touched and did not use the steak knife as the roll was on top of that. I was able to eat the steak, half the potato (which is as much as I would have eaten anyway) and avoided most of the beans. As we were leaving, I informed the waitress (of course it was not her fault) so she could pass along the info to the kitchen staff. I am celiac and did not have any (noticeable) reaction.
