I got a sandwich and it was amazing. The waitress made sure to be the only one to touch my food to avoid cross contaminations. And she was very knowledgeable about what was and wasn't gluten free. Would highly recommend for those who are gluten free, but my mom who isn't gluten free enjoyed her meal as well!
Great GF selection and the pita bread was soft. Chicken Roti w/cucumber garlic sauce was aaaaawesome and the employee behind the counter was very careful on not cross contaminating my food. Wish they had one of these in South Florida.
Very aware of GF and celiac. They even warned me when I ordered a GF pita wrap and tried to get cous-cous in it (cous-cous is not gluten-free)
Love this place! The food is exceptional and the staff are incredibly knowledgeable. They go out of their way to ensure the food is GF and the GF pita is amazing. I highly recommend!!!
We ate at the Roti located at Union Station and I never had to worry. The staff were very knowledgeable about what was gluten free and what wasn't. The staff changed their gloves every time they needed to and I never had to ask them. We ate there several times and didn't have a problem with anything. I would recommend it to anyone whether they were gluten free or not. The food was very good.
Staff wasn't very familiar with what was gluten free and had to ask several other coworkers before someone could explain what was gf. Food tasted pretty good. I had mild stomach upset and gas pain after... not sure if it was cross contamination or simply from traveling stress.
The staff are polite and will take extra care to change their gloves before cooking and handling your pita bread. Unfortunately I have had several negative reactions because of cross contamination and no longer eat here. Not recommended if you are sensitive to cross contamination.
I've eaten at 2 locations and broken out in the Celiac rash both times -- food is great but some cross contamination going on. I'm very very careful with my diet -- the rash makes that way.
Frequented the chain's Washington DC locations. One of my favorite spots. They have delicious gluten free pitas on request. The Roti chicken is amazing. Quick food, customizable while they prepare it with all ingredients cued behind customer facing glass. Large selection, very high quality.
This place had all good reviews. However, I am super sick and glutened within an hour and a half of eating. I got the rice bowl, cucumber salad, beef, hummus, garlic sauce and roasted red pepper. They changed their gloves and all but still did not work out.
Clearly labeled and they have made improvements as GF has moved more mainstream. Pita bread is rare to find so I give them an extra star. Issues here are consistency of employee practices and cross contamination.
The food is really good and I would recommend any location but this one. This jerk with the long hair rolled his eyes at me and gave me attitude when I asked him to change his gloves. Totally not worth it. I will never come back to this location.
First time eating here I got the chicken roti rice plate. No issues. Second time eating here (today), I got a falafel salad. Totally sick tonight, incredibly sick. Sickest I've been since being diagnosed three years ago. Other reviewers say the falafel isn't GF, but the Roti menu says it is. I didn't even ask about CC because of the big GF labels on everything -- silly me. It's a bummer cause the food is amazing.
You have to have someone help you. A lot of the food is gf , be careful around the yellow couscous and pita. They do have a gf pita that my daughter described more like a pancake. But everything is gf to go on top except the couscous. She had chicken and rice but they had a lot of salad options. Overall a good experience !
Servers change gloves, gluten free pita is delicious and price isn't terrible. Good lunch option. Potential for cross contamination with sauces since the spoons touch the non gluten free pitas, but overall they are cautious. Haven't gotten sick from eating here. Will definitely keep going back!
The menu is clearly marked with GF items. Without prompting, as soon as I ordered the GF pita, the staff changed gloves. The pita was double wrapped in aluminum foil before it was placed in the warmer. It was very good for GF fast food.
I was so happy when I found out that a Mediterranean restaurant was gluten free because they usually aren't. The employees are very knowledgeable and they cook the gluten free food in a separate area and insured there was no cross contamination. They even have gluten free pita bread, which was a nice surprise! I would defiantly recommend this place for people who need to be gluten free!
Rice is always half burned/dried out. Really ruins the meal. Meat is good. I alway feel tired and irritated after eating here though. Massive risk for cross contamination. Couscous spills into surrounding containers. The workers often jam the spoon of each ingredient into the pita when making sandwiches. It's not safe like chipotle where they dump it. They will throw the small pita on your plate so make sure to ask them not to.
What a mess it looks like burnt food thank Goodness I didn't take my husband and daughter here to eat they have to be gluten-free there is just bread and everything the meat looks burnt and is not very clean in there I would not trust this place if you are serious a celiac avoid not very nice servers either and they're much better options out there!!!!! Very disappointed because other reviewers said it was safe and he was touching everything and asked me if I wanted to take on a gluten-free Pita to my husband right with the same gloves he used to touch regular bread so buyer beware
Delicious food. The person who put my plate together informed me that she would wash her hands and change her gloves before making my meal. I think there's some risk of cross contamination because when they scoop the food out of the containers to put into a regular pita pocket, the scoops can touch the bread. I'm very sensitive though and I didn't get sick.
Roti is great and very accommodating for those with gluten allergies or Celiac disease! The manager comes over to make your meal to insure the safety of it. If you get the GF pita they wrap it in foil and then grill it so there is no contamination. There is possible contamination with the items that are next to the couscous, but just be aware and don't choose those things or ask if they have any that are not on the bar yet.
Not celiac friendly, great food tho. When they make a pita, they stuff the serving spoon into the pita shell, covering it in bread crumbs, then right back in the food. Couscous also gets into all surrounding food. So much potential but bad cross contamination. Food great.
