This place was great for gluten free and celiac. I'm celiac and can rarely find places that have 70-80% of their menu GF. We were traveling and staying nearby and found them on the FMGF app. I had the fish and chips and venison chili. They were both excellent. Apparently the owner is GF. The waitress and GM both were fun, friendly, and very knowledgeable about gf. The waitress even brought a malt vinegar bottle for my wife (who is not gf but got and loved the fish and chips), pushed the bottle away from me and said "not for you". I don't find that level of knowledge at many places. Overall we had a great meal and experience and no issues afterwards. And the prices were very fair and portions were plenty. $20 for soup/chili or salad, entree, and dessert. I highly recommend them.
I’ve been here twice. The first time was great. The second time I got glutened. The key is to order from the restaurant not the bar. The bartenders are way less careful that the waitress. You can also order online, I have done that, they are good with that. Good food, just have to make sure you get the right staff.
Awesome little spot in Avon! If you have Celiacs like me you haven't seen the inside of a diner in a long time, that was cool! We ordered off the happy hour menu and choose wings, beef nachos, and fried shrimp and calamari. This was typical bar food, but for a Celiac that is kind of refreshing since it was GF typical bar food, and for that I am thankful!!
We ordered nachos and they came out to say it would take a little longer with our order, as they weren’t sure of the chips from the day before had been fried in the dedicated GF fryer, so they were making a fresh batch out of extreme caution. Really appreciated the attention to detail and keeping our food celiac safe.
I am pleasantly surprised to have another GF restaurant option in the valley. I learned from a local that the owner of Route 6 is gluten free himself, which is why he has worked to provided extensive GF options on the menu. I opted for the fish and chips, which were phenomenal! No reaction. Delicious crispy fried filets and potato wedges. Dedicated GF fryer. Highly recommend.
I’ve eaten at Route 6 multiple times for lunch and dinner and have not had an issue. Dedicated fryer, what a win! GF is marked on the menus and the servers I’ve had have all been knowledgeable. I usually get the fish and chips and the wings. They have killer happy hour specials… 3p-5p 7 days a week.
My daughter who has Celiac disease ordered the GF chicken wings. She loved them & didn’t get sick. They have a dedicated fryer. Unfortunately we were too full to try any of the delicious sounding GF desserts. Would definitely recommend. Also came here for breakfast. They had GF pancakes, bagels & bread.
Several GF options including Fish and Chips which our daughter throughly enjoyed. Server was aware of Celiac precautions and kitchen seemed to have appropriate cross-contamination policies such as GF only fryers and a separate GF work space.
Owner came out and spoke with us. He has celiac and that is why the restaurant has so many GF options and GF cooking options!
Came here because of the great reviews. We reminded the waitress that we needed our food in the gf fryer which she knew nothing about but said she was new so went to ask. She came and told us that they have a new cook and can't guarantee that even the gf fryer is gf. I canceled my order and sat waiting for the rest of my family to eat.
Food was sooo good. Got a gluten free burger with fries (in gf fryer) - all marked on menu and reassured by the staff multiple times. Service was amazing, and the vibes are great. We ended up eating here 3/5 nights on our ski trip because of how much we loved it, and I’m very sensitive but didnt get sick once. Also great happy hour (3-6pm, 7 days/week) deals - gf food included!
My hubby has Celiacs disease. Such an awesome find. Met the Owner and he has Celiac and makes sure all precautions are taken. They also have a dedicated fryer and their fries are GF. Staff is very knowledgeable and when we told them we specifically traveled their because of reviews on this app, that made them happy. Great burgers and fries. Many items GF and marked accordingly. Highly recommend checking them out.
Such a great spot! Very casual and relaxed local cafe. The GF options were phenomenal and the staff takes pride in their knowledge of GF protocol. The owner is also GF and is very kind! We enjoyed the GF fried shrimp and calamari for an appetizer along with their hot wings! So good! We loved all of our meals and would definitely recommend for food taste, quality and value.
Owner is gluten free and staff and food was AMAZING!! Best food I had in a long time.
Visited here without our GF child so did NOT try the GF food; however, according to the menu and waitress I spoke with, they offer GF bread, buns, pasta (rice noodles) and a dedicated GF deep fryer option. Most of the dinner menu is marked as GF, including fish & chips, shepherds pie, curry, meat loaf, pasta dishes, meatballs, salads and most of the apps. They seem knowledgeable and Colorado in general seems to be quite aware of celiac and CC issues.
