Family dinner with two celiac. All 7 entrees came cool to lukewarm. Fishy. Very fatty lamb. Ok drinks. Good service. Just a really unfortunate result.

Food was not amazing when we went, maybe we hit a bad night but for me it’s all about having a safe meal so that’s why I still gave 5 stars. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about celiac, I had one of the fish dishes and everything was very safe to eat.

Staff were kind and accommodating. Everything was clearly marked, and waiter knew exactly what was safe, etc. He marked celiac on the order, and I immediately had no concerns about getting sick. Food was expensive but cooked perfectly and delicious! My husband and I split the “quad” for surf and turf (includes portions of four of the main entrees).

We had our last dinner here during our stay and it was delicious! They took note of me being celiac & I didn’t get sick after. It’s pricey like all the resort restaurants but it was certainly tasty, and great views too!

I had a great experience eating here with my family. Our server was hospitable and understanding of my food restriction. Best of all I didn’t get sick!

Appetizers: my family (all gluten eaters) thought the goat cheese fondue was to die for. I’m not a fan of goat cheese so I didn’t have any—thank god, because according to other reviews the fried garlic and chips are CC. I’m not sure why it would be labeled gf if this is the case, but definitely let your server know before apps about your food restrictions just to avoid any potential CC scenarios.

Entrée: I had the scallops and grits. I am a scallops snob and thought they were pretty good! The sauce in particular was delicious.

Dessert: I had the flourless chocolate cake & subbed the sorbet for coconut ice cream. Super yummy! The only GF dessert but flourless choc cake was my favorite even before I was gf, so it worked out for me.

Food is excellent- I would have given 5 full stars but our server who was very helpful- gave us popcorn that I took several bites of before asking and it had some sort of sesame in it- she brought me my own GF popcorn later but I’m afraid I did get sick from the meal. I would for sure go back as I do think it was the popcorn that I reacted to.

Rum Fire is a top quality restaurant. It's expensive but you get what you pay for. I got the Hawaiian fresh catch which was a wonderful mahi mahi with the sweet potatoes and succotash. The flour less chocolate cake was probably the best I have ever had. It paired perfectly with the lilikoi sorbet!

The restaurant is only open for dinner and reservations seem to book up days in advance. We were able to walk in and get a table in the bar area and still enjoyed a wonderful meal.

Their menu has a lot of gluten free choices clearly marked. The food was great and I had no issues with a gluten reaction so they seemed to handle it well. I had the fish of the day with purple sweet potatoes. They had to replace the succotash because it had dairy or corn (I forget now which) which I am also allergic to and they gave me several options to sub it with. Great service and knowledgeable server.

EAT HERE!! You will not regret it. It’s the best meal we’ve had. Omg the food was amazing (see photos below) and the view from the restaurant is stunning!

For an appetizer, we had the Goat Cheese Fondue which was so good (the chips and fried garlic were cross-contaminated so I could not have them but my husband who does not have an allergy thoroughly enjoyed them on the side).

For the entrees, I had the Crab Crusted Fish (gf) and my husband had the Boneless Short Rib (also gf). I tried both and honestly I couldn’t pick which one I liked better! You can’t go wrong here. There are plenty of gluten free options that are denoted on the menu. Our server also happened to be a chef at Rum Fire before she became a server. She was VERY knowledgeable in the ingredients and how to modify dishes. Her name was Naomi if you can request her!

For dessert, we had the Flourless Chocolate Cake with Lilikoi Sorbet. Soo good!!

Had the goat cheese fondue (minus chips and fried garlic bc their fryer isn’t gf), the short ribs with Maui onion mashed potatoes and white rice, and the gf chocolate torte with lilikoi sorbet. Best meal I’ve had on the island! Staff is knowledgeable and will alert both manager and chef to allergies. I’m also allergic to taro so hawaii has been a little hard but they do a great job of double checking everything and making a safe and delicious meal!

If you are truly celiac and gluten sensitive do not go here. They label menu items as GF when they truly aren't. Plus the "Chef" wouldn't even come out to talk to me. They sent a manager. The waiter was not trained. I requested an entree that was labeled as GF on their menu and he told me if you are severely sensitive not to get it because it does have a little bit of gluten. Why is a restaurant advertising menu items clearly as GF? It's one thing if they don't label it but offer to have the chef to come out and discuss what can be done. To me this is a restaurant trying to get on the bandwagon of the fad of GF versus offering true cuisine for those of us who can't have any gluten. TAKE THE GF LABEL OFF THE MENU, you are false advertising.

I have eaten here over 20 times and never gotten sick! The staff, kitchen, and management are amazing people! Their menu is clearly marked with GF items. My favorites are the Salmon, Scallops, and GF flatbread. The GF Chocolate Flourless cake is sublime. Rum Fire is a favorite of mine on the island.
