The staff said there would be precautions but I'm not confident any were taken. The menu has items starred that are "Gluten-Free Friendly" with an asterisk at the bottom of the menu indicating using gluten free ingredients but acknowlinging the facility is not gluten free.
I ordered the BBQ chicken salad, my sister who is gluten intolerant ordered the fish tacos as did my husband, both indicating it as needing to be gluten free. When the food came out we realized the side which is the Mexican corn salad is not marked with a star under the sides section. So even though the meal is marked and the server was told, a non gluten free menu item was still included as part of the meal.
I wouldn't normally have taken the risk but this was a gathering with out of town family following a funeral and I didn't want to be a nuisance, I won't be taking the risk again as I have no confidence it was safe
Service took FOREVER!!! I ordered gluten free quesadillas which are made with corn tortillas. I could tell as soon as it came out that it was made with flour tortillas. Luckily I caught it and sent it back. Unfortunately it took another 40 minutes for a replacement appetizer to come out. Our meals ended up coming BEFORE the replacement appetizer. The manager did come over and apologize and also said he would check to make sure our meals were gluten free. The food was pretty good when we actually received it (1.5 hours after we had arrived). I ordered the pesto chicken pasta and the pasta had great flavor. However, the manager never came back to check in on us again and we weren't given a discount on the item they almost poisoned me with. I will not be returning. If you're looking for a gluten free friendly restaurant with a knowledgable staff, there are other restaurants that I would visit in this area before trying this one.
American bar food menu with quite a few options. Not all staff are gf knowledgable, but the kitchen is better. After many great experiences, I unfortunately had a major glutening--was given flour tortillas instead of corn in my quesadilla, and didn't realize until it was too late :(.
Overall it seems like a place that's conscious of Celiac Disease and makes an effort to provide gluten free food, but maybe is a little lax in their execution and their protocols.
I feel ~mostly okay after eating here, but I definitely do not feel 100%. Got the Baja tacos, with gluten free corn tortillas. When the tacos came out, there wasn't any indicator that the tortillas were corn based and not flour based, which scared me. They ended up being corn tortillas (I think - if they had been flour, I would be much sicker right now). Had to rely on the server for help there, but the server did not inspire a great deal of confidence, and said some things that kind of made my eyebrows raise. The menu did have a few gluten free options but everything was labeled "gluten free friendly" which, I mean, I understand. It is a chain, they serve a lot of gluten food, they can't guarantee there will be no cross contamination, but still, the use of the word "friendly" in relation to gluten always strikes terror in me.
So I don't know. Seems like a lot of people have had great experiences here. Maybe I'm just especially sensitive.
Best burger ever!! Service was great!
