They have a separate GF menu with more choices than most restaurants. They served my food separately and noted it was GF.
I ordered an entree that had no mention in the description that it had cheese on it. I am highly allergic to all dairy and gluten. I didn't ask the run down of what was in it trusting the menu to say it had cheese. They remade my food without all the dairy, and we still paid full price for my meal. Needless to say we will not be returning to Rusty Bucket.

4 stars only because the food was wonderful. The service all 4 times we've been there not so great. My husband refuses to go back after the last time.

Stopped here on our way back home. I was excited for a place with such an extensive GF menu. I ordered the bucket of shrimp and the double stacked quesadilla. The shrimp was great and they even had woodchuck cider, however, our waitress was terrible. Our drinks and food all came at the same time. She explained that she had been very busy with a larger party and apologized. No biggie. I was about to eat a piece of quesadilla, when I noticed it looked A LOT like a flour tortilla and not corn. Luckily, I had my Nima Sensor with me and tested it. Sure enough it came back "gluten detected" . I had planned to just send it back and have it remade because, hey mistakes happen. However, our waitress did not come back to check on us for another 15-20 minutes! At this point I was irritated. I wanted to get cheesecake to go but when I calmly explained to her what happened and how it would have made me very sick, she rudely brushed it off and said "well we have this item on our normal menu and they must have grabbed the wrong one, so they could just remake it." I explained to her that we were traveling and didn't have time to wait since we had been there close to an hour for a party of 2 in a restaurant that wasn't a quarter full and would just like it removed from our bill. Left without cheese cake and opted for Menchie's fro yo a few doors down. No manager came to apologize. In summary, the employees that I experienced had no regard for my safety and did not care about my satisfaction. If you have celiac disease, eat here with caution.
Don't go here. They have a gluten free menu but cross contaminate. Twice have I been eating gluten free noodles and found a gluten noodle in with it. I only went back from it happening the first time because the manager said he took it very seriously and would talk to the chefs which obviously, not the case
Despite some reviews, I thought the food was very good, large portions for the money and our waitress had good customer service skills. Had the pesto chicken gluten free which was a nice option from the usual. I will definitely return on another visit to Columbus.
My son and I ordered off the gluten free menu. He got fish tacos and I got sirloin steak. He said the fish in the taco was great but the other ingredients weren't so good. Overall he gave it a 5. When my steak arrived it had cheese on top (which wasn't mentioned on the menu) and fried onions on the side. I questioned the waitress about it. ..sure enough, the onions weren't gluten free. I sent it back. The manager came out and offered top get me something else while I waited for a new steak to be cooked. Everyone else in my party had their food. I asked for my other side dishes. ..steamed broccoli and a tomato cucumber salad with gorgonzola cheese. .They were great and my new steak appeared just as I finished eating the sides. The steak was only so so, but that's what you get for ordering a steak at a place that specializes in fish. My husband enjoyed his breaded fish and chips for father's day so it all worked out.
The food was great. I had the double stacked quesdilla and the pesto chicken. However, the staff was not exceptionally friendly. I asked them to turn the only tv I could see to the UEFA match and got a lot of flack from the manager (?) for it. He did eventually change it, but his argument was that somebody else might want to watch the US Open. At the time there was only one other table that could see that particular television. In fact, the place was mostly empty, but it did start filling up as we were leaving. The napkins literally fell apart with the first use. At this time, I'm not sure if I would return, even though the food was excellent.
fiance had severe reaction to food even though she was told that "the minute you request a gf menu we scrub down the kitchen". spoke with manager about our experience and he compensated us with gift cards, but we'll not be back. it's been a long time since she got this sick...
Gluten free menu that you can request. A good amount of options. I had the shrimp bucket for an appetizer which was very good. I chose the pesto pasta with chicken for the main course. It was a heart portion and very good as well. Will certainly visit again.
I'm downgrading my rating of this restaurant. We have eaten at this restaurant many times without issue - but recently, that changed. They have no options for children. Sometimes, we've ordered GF Mac and cheese. Typically the noodles are crunchy - but my child still likes the cheese sauce. They switched waitresses after we got our drinks because our waitress was being sent home (she was very nice and helpful). The new waitress seemed ok but not as friendly. We explained that my child has Celiac and Ordered GF Mac and cheese. The meal was ready faster than normal (but the first waitress had asked the kitchen to start booking a pot of water immediately when she took our drink order). My child ate the Mac and cheese and a few minutes later needed to throw up (which is his symptom when he is badly glutened). I asked the waitress if the Mac and cheese was GF and she immediately said yes and said that the sauce probably didn't agree with him. The manager came over and said for sure the pasta was GF. My son vomited every 15-20 minutes for 3 hours - his reaction to a non GF meal. I think it wasn't GF and I find it strange that the waitress was so quick to blame the sauce.... If you order something that is not on the menu- ask to speak with the manager first! This restaurant needs a couple of GF dessert options (without nuts) in addition to some kid friendly GF options on their GF menu.
They have a gf menu. And each and every time I've eaten there (which is 12+times) I've never had an issue. Food is reliable and good. Not great. But safe. Which is more than I can say for many restaurants that offer a gf menu. I always order peel and eat shrimp. And then one of the gf entrees.
They have a decent gluten free menu, so that's a plus. I ordered a pasta dish and it was pretty good... but I'll never be going back. Afterward, I got so sick that I seriously thought that if I didn't go to the hospital I was going to die. At about 2am - several hours after the meal - I was sobbing because I was so miserable; I've never felt that sick in my entire life. I'm still unsure if it was actually gluten contamination or if I just straight up got food poisoning. Either way, the food was not good enough for me to risk it again.
