Nice gluten free menu, great service and good food. Felt safe with my selections.
They have a gf menu with good variety. I had the rice and beans bowl (add chickens) plus four less chocolate cake for dessert. The allergy plate came out first with a cover on it and the food was flagged allergy. (My son has a tree nut allergy, so his was treated the same) I'm impressed with everything about this place. I'll be back when I am in town again.
Our server was Laura and she was so sweet! She listened when I told her I am gluten and dairy free. I got the chicken breasts with rice and beans. It came with a side salad. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was this was pretty much my only option since I don't eat seafood. So if you eat seafood you'll have more options!
My husband loves fish dip on crackers, so I always travel with some Schar GL crackers in my purse. We ordered the fish dip at Rusty’s and found it came with regular saltine crackers as well as Diamond Band Nut Thins crackers which are gluten free. This is not marked in the menu, but I our server was very knowledgeable about gluten free and assured us these were.
Great experience every time. Separate menu, tasty, I've never felt uncomfortable or a bother by asking for GF.
We had dinner here while on vacation. Very attentive to our gluten and shellfish allergies at the table. The gluten free items were marked by a separate menu. The GF plates came out in blue dishes (others had red), with the servers wearing gloves and the dishes covered with lids. Everything was delicious. My daughter and I had salads with ranch on the side. Shrimp in caper butter with mashed potatoes, filet and Mahi Mahi and finished with flourless chocolate cake. Everything was hot and cold as they should be and delicious!
Rusty’s was amazing. They were very knowledgeable about cross contamination. My food came out separately with a cover over it. Our server was amazing. Food is phenomenal! Gluten free dessert too!
This place was great. They do have a gluten free menu and our waitress was very knowledgeable about gluten/ celiac disease and their menu around it.
I've never left a review but I had to after last night. Please save your money and go dine elsewhere. Our family of 4 went last night, two celiac, two not. All four of us had horrible meals. The food was barely edible. How there was a line out the door as we were leaving is beyond me.
Great service. Gluten free menu. Wait staff go to great lengths to prevent cross contamination. Food is well prepared and tasty. We will go back anytime we can.
Food is decent. Love their boiled shrimp however.... be warned especially if ordering take out — although they have a gluten free dessert on the menu and you order said dessert —it might not be the gluten free dessert!!!! We ordered the chocolate cake and got home with something resembling a chocolate cake. Loved it. Ordered again three nights later and guess what?!?! Different dessert!!! When I called they said what I picked up today was the GF dessert and last time was NOT! Thankfully, I only have a sensitivity vs celiac but please use caution and get confirmation and clarification before you eat anything supposedly GF here!!!!
Dont let the other reviews fool you, this place is only decent. The oysters and clams are meh, and they are not too good with GF. Many things that would be good on the menu are fried, and there is no dedicated frier. The food took a while to come out, and when it came out it was only meh. I ordered the Seared Ahi tuna, which they said was GF. However, when they brought it out, it had no seasoning or sauce on it, due to those having gluten somehow. Someone else ordered it too, and they had it with the sauce and seasoning. They said that even with it it was bad. The best thing I had was the side of garlic mashed potatoes, which was also decent. After trying other dishes, I discovered that the fish is oily and bland, not even peppered. Both the wasabi and ginger are dyed (?!?) and the music was terrible. At least go with calmer music for a seafood bar, not music that would belong at a lofi nightclub (Bob Marley anyone?) All in all, don’t waste your time here, especially with so many other seafood bars around.
We had the spinach salad with the fish of the day. It was fabulous! I don’t get too excited about salad, but my husband and I both loved it. We will definitely be back.
GF menu Very knowledgeable about what you can and cannot have. No dedicated fryer Food is excellent
This was fantastic. Staff was knowledgeable. Had a GF menu. I’m celiac and had no reactions.
Awful experience. Ordered from the gluten free menu. Oysters were brought out WITH bread on top. Requested a new order and was charged for both! Didn’t get the salad that came with the meal because the waiter “didn’t know what dressings we could have so he wasn’t going to bother with it”
Server checked to ensure meal was GF without being asked or making a big deal. Very cool!!
Limited options but I had a salad with grilled fish and did not get sick. So for me that’s a good review!
Had a great GF menu. The grouper was fresh and garlic mashed potatoes had real bits of garlic in them. There was live music and we ate outside on the deck. Great service.
Restaurant has a GF menu. I selected the grilled chicken with broccoli. Dish came out covered, server confirmed again I had an “allergy” before serving it to me. Chicken was plain and not seasoned - tested with my Nima sensor and came back with a smile, no gluten found. Successful meal out
