This is our go-to for Italian. They not only have a GF menu they understand what it means. On one night I stopped dead in my tracks. The food was way too good to be GF and the crust on the veal parm was suspect. I stopped our waitress, she yelled to the chef "this veal parm is gluten free right?" "Of course it is! I wouldn't want to get her sick!!" I thanked them all just as loud and the whole restaurant laughed .
1 gluten free meal option but I couldn't have it because they were out of gf pasta. didn't feel like settling for salad so left.
We had eaten at this location many times and had never had a problem, as they have gluten free pasta on the menu. The last time we went there, we found non-gluten free noodles in the gluten free pasta we ordered. The manager apologized and offered to make an additional order to go on the house, promising it to be gluten free. We took it to go, and ate a few bites at home. That night, the individual in our party with a gluten allergy was ill and the symptoms persisted into the next day. Whether it was the initial meal with random pieces of regular pasta mixed with the gluten free or the additional meal they gave us, there was some sort of cross contamination (maybe they boil all pasta in advance and didn’t switch water between regular and gluten free pasta?). We will no longer be visiting this restaurant, and I want this to be a warning to others who may take their chance here. Inspect your food and ask about cross contamination possibilities when you order!
