Review of Senza Gluten

Very good food and no risk of cross contamination - most important boxes are checked. Cash only (or American Express) and pretty expensive, not a good combination. Ordered half of what I would have ordered - just because I wanted to pay the bill without doing a night walk to the next ATM. Really the worst, and that crashed my positive mood (the place is in general really lovely): the waitress was obviously not amused that my kid wanted to get plain pasta with butter or white sauce. Yes, in a first class French restaurant I would have expected such an attitude, but the Senza Gluten should be a better place. It caters (to some extent) disabled people - that’s what celiac disease is, sorry. At least my perception of my own situation. My daughter (celiac as well) is really picky and simply doesn’t eat mushrooms and speck - a natural protection effect due to health issues or badly raised by its parents, your call. But that shouldn’t matter (not the waitress at least). Her „We don’t do“ was finally overruled by her boss and my daughter got a portion of pasta with butter/cream - and had to pay the full 31 dollars that was usually charged for the regular dish. So what. As I said, food is delicious, most of the staff nice, the place full of character and cosy. We are grateful to have restaurants that focus on gluten free food. Cons: individual experience and anything but cheap.
