Ate here a few years ago and everything seemed so promising when we got there but I had a really bad allergic reaction later from the food. Quite disappointing.

Absolutely fabulous! So MANY delicious GF options! They are so knowledgeably about cross contamination and how to make a regular option GF! Items that are rarely available to GFers were in good supply! Perfect way to celebrate a big birthday! Excellent wait staff❣

The fried calamari was like a party in my mouth! So tasty! It’s been 10 years since I’ve eaten fried calamari and I was so happy. Will be back again… and perhaps I will not wait for a special occasion.

THIS WAS THE MOST SCRUMPTIOUS FOOD IVE EVER EATEN AND THE RESTAURANT WAS SO PRETTY. The server man was so smart about all the gluten free things and there was a GF fryer. Even if I had gotten sick, the food would’ve been worth it (except I didn’t get sick).

Reading past reviews I was nervous to eat here. It was my boyfriends moms bday and so I was planning on just getting a salad to be safe. I ended up getting the fried calamari, fried artichoke hearts, French fries, crème brûlée, and the artichoke soup. I didn’t feel or get sick :). They have a separate dedicated fryer for gf only and had precautions for cross contamination. They can also make the steaks gf as long as they don’t put the sauces/seasonings on them. I felt safe eating here.

Brent was our waiter and he was wonderful. He brought out a small binder with all of the ingredients listed!
They also have a deviated fryer!! The fried artichoke hearts with vegan aioli was to die for!!
Thank you so much Brent!!

I felt that the service was knowledgeable. They have a dedicated GF fryer. I had the absolute best calamari ever It was so tender & tasty. Their gluten free choices are limited but the food was fantastic. I had the short ribs which where tender fall of the bone amazingly Flavorful with grilled polenta . For dessert we shared the creme brûlée and a chocolate molten cake desert. Yummy! I would go again.

The fryer is not safe, and they reuse regular pasta water to cook the gluten free pasta. They said they had GF pizza, but then came out and said it would likely to be contaminated. Finally, they offered to boil fresh water for spaghetti. One Celiac who ate that, plus a salad and a flourless chocolate cake, was fine. The other Celiac, who ate a fish entree that was marked gluten free and a birthday ice cream sundae, was very sick after the meal. Very disappointing.

Absolutely beautiful and a friendly staff, however my daughter and I both were very ill after dining. My daughter was so sick she was laying on the bathroom floor before we left. (Gross, I know, but she was REALLY sick.)

Had a great meal here with a big group of family! Our server, Chris, was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and the GF options. He assured me they didn't reuse pans in the kitchen and any GF option on the menu would be safe for me to eat. I had the filet mignon which comes with a mushroom/caramelized onion topping and a creamy sauce of some kind. Whatever it was, it was amazing. And it comes with a side of smoked Gouda potato gratin which is amazing! I could eat a whole plate of just that. For dessert, the Chocolate Meltdown is awesome, as well as the Creme Brulee (hold the almond cookie).
Highly recommend talking to the servers before ordering; this made me feel safe about the meal I had and it was awesome.
I was So excited to have a Nice resteraunt have a gluten free menu.... But my excitement waned 3 days later when I got sick :( . If your nearly gluten intolerant you will probably be fine but for anyone with celiac I would think twice..... On the other hand Crows Nest who does not advertise gluten free was able to accommodate my requests and I had a superb meal and never got sick.... I had the prawn cocktail for appitizer, mashed potatoes , steamed veggies , plain choice of fish with absolutely nothing added and a side of plain melted butter and lemon wedges. It was Delicious ! :) . Hope this was helpful for all you Santa Cruz celiacs...

A very nice restaurant. Beautiful grounds, fresh, well prepared food. They have several gluten free items. They assured there was no cross contamination. My daughter has Celiac, she had a nice dinner of broiled salmon, broccoli, and scalloped potatoes. I am gluten sensitive. I had creamed spinach, filet mignon, and scalloped potatoes. Both if us felt fine after dinner, no reaction. Don't forget to ride the hillavator! $$$
