I ordered a shack burger with fries on a gf bun and the server asked me if it was an allergy. When I said yes, she let me know the fries are cross contaminated. So I opted for just the burger and a water and it was great! I don't eat fast food but this seemed like one of my only gf options in the airport besides Jersey Mikes. I'm so glad I went for it the burger was super tasty and my allergy was clearly marked on my order.
Shake Shack in Terminal A of Newark. Changing between Terminals is easy with shuttles, and without new security checks!
Gluten-Free buns available. Tasted good! Fries also possible, but not with cheese-sauce.
I come here pretty often and haven’t gotten sick yet. They used to only have lettuce wraps but now have the gf buns and acknowledged my allergy. Friendly service. Great option to have in an airport. 👌🏼

Probably the most filling airport meal I’ve had in years. There’s normally so few options so this is a delight. It’s clearly marked on the menu that you can sub for a GF bun, I checked some back up info on their website also. When I ordered it was listed as allergy on the receipt, all clearly marked.
I came here and started asking about what was gluten free, and they just stared at me blankly and had no idea what I was talking about. Needless to say, I walked away and didn’t order anything for fear of being cross-contaminated. I can see that other people have had good experiences here, but they did not inspire confidence with me.
The servers took care to prevent cross contact! My burger was absolutely amazing and service was great. I did however get the slightest bit cross contaminated, but I'm very very sensitive. I had a great experience here. If I go back to this terminal I will have no problem eating here again. Tip: Server let me know fries are made in a way that they're cross contaminated, so I did not order any.
Also ate here without issue. Just made sure to flag a gluten allergy and they handled it. Really great to have a quick option for food in the airport.
Great little restaurant.
When we said GF bun the server yelled into the back to ensure they understood it was “an allergy”. The kitchen folks yelled back and confirmed.
Burger tasted good.
Fries are not GF as fryer is shared with chicken burgers.
This place is awesome! Brought out my food separately and the employee who took our order informed the entire kitchen staff right there that there was an “allergy incoming change your gloves!”

Daughter had a gluten free bun and hamburger. Ask the right questions - served on tray separate from other items and clearly marked.
shake shack isnt the perfect GF place but it is nice when you ‘re craving a fast food burger they got good gluten free buns, and definitely do their best i personally havent had any issues but someone with more sensitivity might!
I’ve eaten here several times and haven’t had a problem. You can get your burger with lettuce wrap or a GF bun. The GF bun is very good. I also tried their fries and didn’t have a reaction but I’m not sure if they’re technically safe or not.
Fries are not safe, but the gluten free bun is prepared separately and pretty decent. Yummy burgers! They put in an allergy order. Staff was knowledgeable and avoided cross-contact well. Shacksauce is unfortunately not gluten free either. Limited options, but a good burger!
