They offer gluten free burger buns on request. I was quite nervous ordering here as the staff seemed unsure of if they even had gluten free buns but had seen at their other restaurants around LA that they do. The burger was good, I didn’t order chips as I defiantly think they would of made me I’ll. Staff needed more training on allergies for sure. I would say if you are ordering here to be very clear with your server to ensure they are clear on what you want and your allergies.
Giving it 5 stars because even though none of their sides are gluten free, the staff was so friendly and helpful that it definitely made up for it. Their gluten free bun is amazing and when they accidentally put it through the toaster, they redid it right away. Really good burger!
I've never gotten sick here, but you need to be careful. People get different answers about the fries, but once I had it explained in detail. There are separate fryers, but they sit next to each other and splatter into the other. That's quite disappointing, but the fact is that my Mom (who is not a very sensitive Celiac) eats the fries without problem. I would never try it because I am very sensitive. I only eat the burgers on the GF bun (not toasted). 1 burger isn't enough food. 2 burgers is too much burger without a side. Nonetheless, it's good in a pinch. I've eaten there probably a dozen times safely.
Ate here twice with no problem (just a burger though). They share oil in the fryers so fries aren't safe. Although they use Hagen daaz ice cream for the shakes, I'm guessing they use the same machine for every type of shake whether gluten free or not, so I wouldn't try it
This is our family go-to burger place. They only fry French fries or sweet potato fries in the fryer. If you ask not to toast the gluten free bun then you're all set! Our Celiac family members never got sick here.
I eat here all the time and love it! I tell them I have a gluten allergy and they make a note of that on my ticket. Dedicated fryer for the fries, the sweet potato fries are delish! I'm grain free so they put my burger on a red plate lettuce wrapped with the other veggies. It works great for me!
ONLY give your order to a manager. I ate here twice and didn’t have a problem. I had a grilled chicken sandwich on a gluten free bun - not toasted. I would NOT recommend grab n go. I had a very short lay over. I walked into the restaurant and gave my order to a manager and my food was cooked promptly and accurately.
This place is celiac friendly is because there are gluten-free buns and in a dedicated fryer for gluten-free french fries :)
The staff was very knowledgeable. Gluten free bun (not toasted) makes a smash burger safe. Designated fryers allows the choice of fries or tots. They went above and beyond to make sure my daughter with celiac had a safe meal. They even made her a chocolate shake on the peanut butter mixer to ensure no cross contamination with Oreo.
Gluten free buns, be sure to ask for them not to be toasted. Fries are made in a shared fryer.
Great place to eat if you’re celiac. Not great to get to tho. Parking is atrocious and city transit goes out that way but there are no sidewalks. There’s another one not too far away to go to instead
Gluten free buns, dedicated fryer for the fries. Staff was very knowledgeable. Exactly food!!
One guy was great and switched gloves but I noticed as my daughters burger was cooking he placed another burger on a bun and then touched her burger! He had no clue. Then the guy said, “we’re familiar, we do this all the time!” Ugh. They also didn’t have a gluten free bun at this location in Toms River nj
Jasmine was working the front counter and was incredibly helpful about gluten free and was knowledgeable about celiac as well. My child loved it because she could actually have a bun with her burger and have fries. Two dedicated fryers for fries. They seemed to do really well with gf.
Thanks for nothing, Smashburger Tried to get Smashburger for the first time today. Ordered online, specified no bun AND gluten allergy...I know they looked at the order because they followed every other instruction. Too bad it's contaminated. Although they apologized when I called, they couldn't do anything for me unless I drove back through Rt 9 midday traffic - not even refund the credit card.
I'm an hour out from a classic Burger on a GF bun and having no reaction. Upon receiving my order, the manager called back to the kitchen telling them a GF order was coming and to be sure to scrape the grill and use clean utensils. Fries are also safe. Nailed it!
Great meal! Quality ingredients! They have a dedicated fryer and Udi’s buns on hand. They clean the grill completely before cooking an order for with an allergy. Just make sure they know to mark “severe gluten allergy” in the order AND that they follow up with kitchen staff. They dropped my tater tots in the non-dedicated fryer on accident, but caught it before it even got to me. (As with any restaurant, they just need to know your needs).
Great food! Quality ingredients! We’ve eaten here twice. They have a dedicated fryer and Udi’s buns in stock. Just make sure they know to mark “severe gluten allergy” at the register and that they follow up with the kitchen staff. I had a milkshake, and confirmed that the containers are washed each time so it doesn’t come in contact with the malt powder used in the restaurant. They will completely clean the grill for a gluten allergy. Their fries are delicious! Their huckleberry milkshake was thick with whole berries! Yum!!
It’s very difficult to find gluten free Celiac-sage options in Terminal 3. I was very happy with the Breakfast Burger. Nice gluten free bun and came to $11, which is less than most other gf options at the airport.
I also got sick from the fries, which they told me were gluten free! Very sad, they should take them off the list of gluten free options. The sandwiches are delicious and seem safe. The manager told me they clean the fryer on Fridays, so that makes it gluten free. I explained that's not how it works, but it's still on their menu.
Gluten free bun is good. When we first went in I asked the cashier if the fries were fried in their own fryer because I had a gluten allergy. She told me that their fries were gluten free. Come to find out they arn’t fried separately and I’m sick today. Won’t be back.
