The Elevation Grill was great. They had a sign at the cash register asking customers to share their allergy needs. The server was knowledgeable about the items that were safe and understood the difference between just gluten free and Celiac safe. He even made sure to personally talk to the cooks to make sure they avoided cross contact. The burger was great and it was nice having fries that were cooked separately.
Idk what prices prior reviews are paying, but I paid $45 for 2 sodas, mediocre burgers, and bags of chips with 6 chips in them. There were basically no options, and they didn’t have their “regular fries” so I overpaid for air in a bag because you can’t order just a burger. Major disappointment
Evolution Burger near the big cat exhibit was PHENOMENAL. I intended to just get some food for my daughter, but when I spoke with the order taker he assured me I was safe eating there. They have gluten free buns (which I thought were delicious) and the fries share a fried with the chicken tenders **that are coated with gluten free breading!!** I was pleasantly surprised with the experience and felt great after the meal. Will absolutely be a go-to when we visit the zoo!
Told to walk to other end of zoo to the Grill--once there, told No, no gf options.
While spending the day at the zoo, I stopped by their various food vendors looking for GF options. I happened to notice that the Italian Kitchen at Market Square at Panda Plaza offers a 7" gluten-free pizza for $7.50. The pizzas come in cheese, pepperoni and "specialty" and are made to order. There is an additional 10 minute wait to cook these pizzas. Given the heat of the day, I did not personally try one but thought it worth noting that there are options available.Other options around the park include bottled juices, water, fresh cut fruit, and additional food offerings (did not inquire about other options).
