The vegetarian gravy is gluten free but they DID NOT have a dedicated fryer according to the two employees working today (different from the previous two reviews for this location). I have celiac but decided to chance the vegetarian poutine. I did not get sick. They also fry the fried pickles in the same frier, which is what cross contaminates the fries. The poutine was good but did give me some anxiety 😅
I called Smoke's Poutinerie Saskatoon downtown to see if they had anything gluten free. He mentioned about the poutine can be made gluten free, they have gluten free gravy, cheese curds and he started to list other gf toppings. I heard bacon, and I said, bacon please. I wished I would have taken a picture of the other toppings.
The poutine was so delicious, flavorful, rich and filling. I am heating the leftovers for lunch now. The guy working was such a sweetheart. When I called, he asked what time I was coming, I said 30 minutes. So he turned on a deep fryer that was new oil. Once I got there, he went and cooked everything. I will definitely keep going back, customer service was one of my best experiences 🏆❤

Although they have an allergy warning at the counter saying they serve items which may contain gluten, when I spoke to them they assured me they have both GF and non-GF options and can do a GF poutine with GF gravy and a dedicated fryer. I got a regular (traditional) poutine. Fries were quite crispy compared to some other poutine I have had and gravy was a bit heavier but still tasty and great to have options!
Have had great experiences with the traditional poutine. They have a dedicated fryer, and GF veggie gravy, just have to ask. They even pulled out the ingredients list in the gravy to show us that it’s GF. My partner hasn’t tried more than the traditional as to not risk it and been fine every time!
