As soon as I arrived I was presented with a gluten free menu, and the waitress was incredibly knowledgeable about what I could and could not eat. I got a combo bowl with steamed scallops and fried shrimp— generous portions, tasty food, no sickness. Real win.

Be warned the tables are a bit small, so if you come at a busy time it may be a challenge to keep your GF food plates clear from the corndogs of those you are dining with.

I'm in heaven! I haven't had fried "anything" in 6 years. Staff was very knowledgeable and explained how the kitchen was set up. I definitely will come back. For some reason the star system gives them a 4 star. That is incorrect, they are a 5 STAR !!

Excellent service and staff! We come here every time in town to have their GF fried fish, shrimp and more! We found out this trip that their fries are also in a dedicated fryer! The hush puppies are not GF, but they are working on it (waitress mentioned). Two of our famikiy members can't have dairy, and they made the GF batter without dairy!! Very accommodating. Owner is celiac. Highly recommend!!!

Great experience! I haven't had fried shrimp in years.They brought my GF plate out separate from everyone else's meals.The server was very kind and knowledgeable. She said they have a dedicated fryer for the GF foods. The shrimp were outstanding!

My girlfriend and I stopped by here and it does in fact seem like a hole in the wall from the outside. But it is definitely a diamond in the rough. She was able to get so much fried food that normally she never gets to have, and she had ZERO complaints. Only upcharge for GF was $1. Will absolutely be going back here again! Staff was also VERY aware of her gluten allergy. We got a GF menu from the hostess and the waitress came over and verified that there was a gluten allergy. Overall amazing experience.

Was a little hesitant as it looks like a hole in the wall BUT the server was very friendly, knowledgable about the menu and how items are cooked. My family has Celiacs and have to eat gluten-free. Many GF options and they brought out their food on a separate carrier(?). My husband had fried seafood for the first time in almost a decade and he and my son were super happy with their meals (Tuna steaks, fried shrimp and scallops, french fries)! Deviled crabs were fantastic as well.

We called before going and were comfortable that they could safely feed someone with celiac disease. Staff was very aware of steps taken to prevent cross contamination. Food was very good. Disappointed that hush puppies were not gluten-free. Mahi portion could have been bigger, but overall, we were pleased and would eat here again.

Not a fancy place! I enjoyed the fried flounder, fried shrimp and French fries. It’s not often that I can eat fried fish in a restaurant. Great coleslaw that was also dairy free. Husband, who is not gluten free, enjoyed his fried shrimp, scallops and oysters. Hush puppies are not gluten free. They were featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.

I got the combo 2 of fried shrimp and scallops with fries and corn and it was so good. I haven’t had fried seafood or almost anything fried since I was diagnosed 6 + years ago! I had no reactions after eating and was pleasantly surprised with how good it tasted! My bf who eats gluten tried a bite and said it tasted like regular fried food! Will definitely be coming here again!

Went to this restaurant with my non-gf family and the server was super nice and gave great recommendations to all of us. My fried food also came out visibly a different color than the other items, since the batter was a lighter color due to the rice flour. I got their fried shrimp, flounder, fries and coleslaw! Also no one has said this but Guy Fieri has been to this restaurant. They don’t have a website either so we were shocked when we walked in and saw his picture.

They had a dedicated GF menu that was full of fried seafood that they bread in rice flour. The waiter fully understood when I told him I had a gluten allergy and he even purposefully put the hush puppies on the far side of the table from me for all on my non-gf friends to eat. I live about an hour away from Wilmington, but I come here every few weeks in order to eat fried seafood. They have a gluten free menu, and the food is consistently good. I have never had a reaction after eating here. Be sure to ask for tartar sauce and cocktail sauce in the individual serving cups, as those are gluten free; I think some of their other sauces are not gluten free.

I called ahead of time to make sure GF options were available; the person on the phone was immediately familiar with the condition. He assured me that Gf items were cooked in a separate fryer and that the owner was familiar with celiac disease, so very strict. When I arrived I ordered the Gf fried shrimp, French fries, and corn on the cob. The food was carried out by a second server, separate from the other food at my table. Food was tasty and I had no after effects. When hush puppies were brought to the table, I asked the server if they were GF and he had the grace to tell me he wasn’t sure and he would ask. (They aren’t GF). Overall I was ecstatic at being able to eat out on vacation and will absolutely eat there again when I’m in the area.

The fried shrimp was delicious, not too much breading but still crispy! There was a separate gluten-free menu which had a lot more options on it than most places. We got the gluten free fried shrimp, fries, and coleslaw. It was very hot when delivered to our car which is great! The batter seemed to need a little seasoning but overall really awesome that they offer gluten free fried items! The staff was nice and told me the plan is to open the dining room 11/1/2020

The only place I can get gluten free fried shrimp! They have several other fried and pan-fried items on their gfree menu. My friend and I didn't care for their veggie sides. Boiled potato = 1 small bland boiled potato. Other veggies were bland. But the shrimp was delicious!!!

We are so happy to have SF in our rotation of places we know we can eat safely. They have an entire gluten free menu and safe prep area for food. They also have a dedicated gluten free fryer. We love being able to eat fried food that doesn’t taste like it’s gluten free. My son has celiac disease and has never gotten sick. Right now they are only doing take out due to the coronavirus.

Four stars because they have celiac safe fried fish and french fries, and they have super aware, accommodating staff. I would love to give them more stars, but sadly the food is just not as tasty as the gluten-rich dishes I remember. Still, if there's no gf fried food near you, it's worth a detour for the sense of freedom ordering here.
