Symptomatic Celiac

Ate here for lunch with colleagues a few weeks ago. I asked the server about safe GF foods and was told that the pizza was safe because it’s cooked on a pan, but that the pasta is not safe because they cook all pasta in the same water. Then another server (manager?) came out and said that the pizza really isn’t safe because flour gets everywhere. So that eliminates most of their menu for people with celiac disease. I got the arugula salad with pan seared salmon and was assured it was safe. The salmon was cooked well and very tasty, but the arugula had seen better days. Overall, this place was fine because I didn’t get sick but it has limited options and the conflicting information from staff did not inspire confidence.

My daughter and I (both celiac) ate here without issues. I had the arugula salad with grilled chicken and she had pizza. I spoke to the pizza cook and he explained the process, including wearing gloves, cooking the pizza on a separate tray, and baking it in the kitchen oven instead of the pizza oven in the back of the store to reduce the chance of cross contamination.

Only thing labeled on their menu GF is pizza and pasta. Got a pasta dish which was good, but got sick about half an hour later.

Unsure if they cook the gluten free pasta separately since I experienced symptoms after eating some.

The pizza was so good! The menu had tons of options that could be converted to GF including pizza and pasta.
