We’ve been going there since the day it opened, and to its sister location (Trail Dust) for decades. They do an excellent job with the smoking and their sauces are safe. (So are the beans, slaw, potato salad, and green salad w/o croutons.)
The owner has a family member with celiac and knows how to keep things safe. (It’s a small local chain.)
**Update- I recently went in and spoke directly with a manager who really went above and beyond to confirm that the sauces and all of the meats are GF. The sauce has soybean oil not soy sauce. The staff aren't always very knowledgable but I haven't had any issues here.
Delicious BBQ! Have tried the brisket, chicken, and ribs, all great. The sauces are GF and so are all (or most) of the sides except the bread obviously. I’ve had the beans and slaw. I double checked on two separate occasions about the sides and haven’t had any issues.
Asked if BBQ sauce is Gluten Free and he said yes right away. Wasn’t sure about the potato salad, but going to try it anyway.
I went here today and the staff was not knowledgable and they seemed annoyed by my questions. Contrary to what the other reviewers said, they told me there was gluten in their sauce because they use soy sauce. So who knows? I talked to two different staff members both said the sauce had gluten though one was not positive.
I called to specifically ask about their BBQ sauce. Per the employee I spoke with, it is gluten free!
I later asked about the potato salad, apparently it is not GF – although that employee didn't seem as knowledgeable.
