Review of Starway Cafe

I was told they have a gluten free dedicated fryer and something along the lines of the owners relative has celiac and they understand the severity of cross contamination.

For those of you that have celiac, you know that symptoms don't usually come on until the next day so it's hard to associate with the cause.

I ate here literally once a week for a month and a half and thought I was fine. my joints hurt really bad and I was tired and weak and felt really low in so many senses for a month and a half. I looked into lyme symptoms and thought maybe that's what it was since I am always very careful with gluten and haven't been cross contaminated or glutened in years.

I go to the diner about a week and a half ago and have a waitress I've never had before serve us and find out that there is no gluten free fryer. I am shocked and don't really believe her. I get my usual fried things and the next day, my symptoms that were fading are all back.

I now know I don't have lyme but I was misled to believe that I was safe at this restaurant and had a really uncomfortable month and a half thinking I was eating safely.....

It might be safe if you don't get anything fried but stay away from fried foods here even though they say it's gluten free on the menu and may tell you there is a dedicated fryer.
