I ate here last about a year ago and meant to leave a review…Ate their steak meal that was listed as gluten free MANY times before one server actually told me that the fryer was shared. Clearly not trained well or at all on food allergies because I clearly told the server each time to please let the kitchen know about my allergy. This was at the very beginning of my diagnosis with celiac so I was still trying to figure things out
— No gluten-free information on the menu
Items listed are not really gluten free due to shared fryer. Staff is not knowledgeable. Not safe for celiacs.

We were super bummed about the shared fryers and left without ordering. It would be SO EASY to make this simple change!

Attempted this placed based on reviews from this app. There are about three items labeled GF on the menu. However they are not safe if you have celiac or are sensitive to cross contamination. When I told the waitress I have celiac she was confused at first so went to talk to the manager. She came back and said everything is fried so my only options were basically vegetables. She came back again and said salads would be my best bet. I explained I came bc I had read positive reviews from this app. Ended up leaving bc I did not feel confident that anything they served me would be safe.

They have some gluten free options, but I struggled to find something because I can’t have dairy either. The waitress help me piece together a meal that fit all my restrictions and was delicious. 10/10 recommend!

They only have a few items on their menu marked Gluten-free, but the staff is very knowledgeable about food sensitivity issues and a quick conversation open up delicious possibilities. The general manager was happy to discuss the fresh ingredients and what could be made to order based upon my interest and allergies. I ended up with some delicious trout with fresh grilled veggies and quinoa. It was perfectly seasoned; perfectly cooked, and it was clear they followed allergen protocols with another manager bringing out my food and making sure I was pleased. It’s a great spot, wonderful atmosphere, excellent service, and no cross contamination issues. One of my new favorite spots here in Chattanooga!

I have eaten here multiple times over the course of several years with celiac disease, and I have never been glutened here. The food is great! The menu has things marked GF, but they do mark items that go into the shared fryer GF as well, so don’t place full trust into the GF labeling. The fries, confusion potatoes, and chips (for the nachos) all go into the fryer and are therefore not safe for anyone with celiac disease. Currently, some of the ceviche options (with no chips) and the skirt steak chimi entree (with veggies and rice as sides) are safe for those with celiac disease. They also have a GF salad. This place has a great atmosphere and a large outdoor dining space with heaters. State of Confusion also has great cocktails as well as delicious agua frescas, so it’s a good spot for dinner and drinks, especially when the weather is nice.

They have many gluten free options on the menu. However, after I ordered the manager came to our table and informed me that none of the potatoes were celiac friendly leaving me to have steamed white rice as my only option other than asparagus. Great for those gluten sensitive folks, maybe not the best for those with celiac. I am VERY grateful that the manager caught the chance of CC though!
