GF menu but be careful. Waitress thought gluten was in butter; another person in the kitchen also got stuck focusing on dairy (which is not our issue). I asked to speak to the manager. The steam platter of the day is marked GF but when I inquired, it is made with a sausage that has a gluten binding. It’s not GF but is marked GF. We got the platter without the potato, onion and sausage - kinda boring but ok. My 2 celiac daughters didn’t get glutened but that is only bc we pushed for all the ingredient info - don’t trust the GF menu and ask questions.
Anything on the menu that is gluten free is marked “GF” and the staff was very knowledgeable when I told them I was a celiac and needed to avoid any gluten and cross contamination. The waiter made sure to make me aware that they would change their gloves in preparation of my food and posted out all my options in the menu. Made me feel very comfortable. Also, the food was SO good! Definitely recommend making it a stop and will return next trip!
This was an upscale casual restaurant with excellent service. I had oysters on the half shell and a watermelon feta salad. Gluten-free options were clearly marked on the menu. I was confident from the items I ordered that cross contamination would be unlikely, but I specified to the wait staff that it needed to be gluten-free as well, just in case. It was a wonderful experience and I did not have any negative reaction.
Aug 2016--update, Steamers moved to southern shores. I still loved the spiced shrimp. I also had a black bean and rice dish with grilled veggies. Nice indoor restaurant now that still has to-go options. July 2015--Steamers was delicious. It is a good to-go spot with seating outside. The staff was knowledgeable about gluten allergies. Everything on the steamed seafood list was gluten free. I had the spices steamed shrimp meal for around 16 dollars...got about 20 large shrimp, cole slaw which had a sweet vinegar base, and black bean soup. By far, my favorite meal in Corolla so far, especially considering the good price.
