Pretty safe, as long as gloves are changed, you get a burrito bowl, and avoid chips. Yummy food!

I had a great experience at Surcheros! I am a very sensitive Celiac, and I did not get sick. I got a burrito bowl, and the staff was very willing to change gloves, pull everything from the back (not from the buffet line), and put aluminum foil down when cooking the steak. The staff was very friendly! They told me the chips are cooked in the same fryer as the flour tortillas, so I would not feel comfortable getting anything with corn tortillas or chips, but the bowl was absolutely delicious!

I don't think this is the safest option, especially for really sensitive Celiacs. It kind of seemed like the staff wasn't super knowledgeable about gluten allergies. For example, the corn and the flour tortillas are both stored in the same exact plastic bin and heated up in the same area. I only felt comfortable eating the corn tortilla because it was in a plastic bag and not physically touching the flour ones, but if you are really sensitive to cross contamination I would not advise getting a tortilla at all. The crispy tortillas have wheat in them, according to the staff but the website said they were corn. Either way, they are cooked in the same fryer as gluten-containing items. If you aren't sensitive to CC, I think this restaurant could be a good option but if you are, I would be wary. I had two corn tortilla beef tacos and the white cheese dip with chips (also cooked in the same fryer). They were both good — but I did not feel the most comfortable eating there. I did not get sick but I'm also not very sensitive to CC.

Staff changed gloves at each station when I mentioned my gluten and dairy allergies. They even pulled fresh pico to avoid accidental contamination from the shredded cheese located next to it! When I asked about the chips, they indicated that while the chips were gluten free they were cooked in a fryer that also cooked flour items. Was a win for me today!

Terrible experience here. No one had an knowledge as to gluten free or what items were gluten free. even the manager, Shaun did not know what was in most of their food. The chips are fried in the SAME fryer as the wheat taco bowls. Portions were very small. Overall it was a terrible experience.

I was visiting South Georgia to see family and found this place. It’s similar to Chipotle with Add-your-own-fixings for bowls, salads, burritos or quesadillas. Everything is gluten free EXCEPT their tortillas and taco shells. Corn chips are fried in a dedicated fryer. I ordered a bowl but avoided the lettuce and shredded cheese because they grab it with their hands. It was excellent! So happy to find gf options in a small town.

While gluten free options are limited it’s very good. The best thing to get is a burrito bowl! The chips are completely gluten free in their own fryer. And the staff is accommodating.

Visited this place with my family. I asked if any of the meat contained gluten, the person helping me had no idea what gluten was. She asked her coworkers and no one was able to answer our questions regarding gluten. We opted to leave.
