Staff were able to mark my order as gluten allergy and seemed to understand cross-contact. My order was brought out separately too. Great tacos - lots of flavour and choice! Understand fried items are not GF, but the allergen menu online us very useful too. Would be back!
Most, but not all, options are naturally gluten free. Anything from the fryer is contaminated with gluten FYI. They have a pre-programmed “gluten allergy” label that they can add to orders and seemed knowledge able to how to keep me safe.
Food was delicious!
Importantly, I have eaten there a few times now and have yet to feel bad at all.
Went the other day and while there aren't menus marked with allergen info up on the board, you can find the allergen info online without any issues. I opted to order in-person en español, and it was a smooth process with telling the cashier that I had a gluten allergy and that I couldn't have any cross-contact. I did notice from the menj that they do NOT have a shared fryer, so keep that in mind for chips and such. Their tacos traditionales are made on corn tortillas, which is helpful.
I also took a peek from the counter and didn't see any gluten containing ingredients on the grill! This made me MUCH more comfortable when ordering. Food was also very reasonably priced ($4/tacos and $4 for elote; larger items are high priced, but still reasonable for a fast casual).
I got the elote (Mexican street corn) and the mulita birria and they were both DELICIOUS! Elote was a solid 8/10 and the mulita was a 8.5-9/10. I'll definitely be adding Taco Bamba to my list of safe spots 💖
Tasty tasty tasty. I’ve eaten at various Taco Bamba locations in northern Virginia for years and always had good experiences. This one is closest to my office and I eat here for lunch a few times a month and have never had issues. My favorite tacos are Al Pastor and Barbacoa. They have GF queso dip, which I appreciate. Their salsas are delicious. I’ve never been sick after eating at Taco Bamba. Tasty drinks at the bar, too. Especially the watermelon margarita when in season. Recommend. The line can get long at peak lunch, so online ordering is helpful.
