The food was good, and the cider was excellent. Our picky Celiac three year old loved the GF bun for her cheeseburger. The staff was knowledgeable.

AMAZING. We talked with the owner and she has gluten intolerance and a dairy allergy so they’re very careful.

The gluten free bun was actually gluten free toast. Very disappointing.

This is my favorite restaurant in TC! The food is delicious and for someone who is vegan and has celiac disease so they are gluten free, the staff accommodates it all. A must go to!

My kids are celiac and this used to be our go to place. For the record they do well managing GF food but they have now focused on vegan. Limited options for the kids. Bummer. Was fun while it lasted. Oh and they ran out of GF food LOL

They handle GF food fine but they got rid of their flourless chocolate cake in favor of a vegan cake. When I commented to the server that I feel no sympathy for vegans rarely having a good chocolate dessert when we have a medical reason for needing GF food, I received a good & healthy vegan smack down. Beware celiacs! They’re turning against us in favor of vegans!

I've never felt so comfortable at a restaurant before! Everything can be made gf and everyone from the host to servers understand celiac. We ended up here twice on our trip to TC. A gf friend recommended Minerva's restaurant, but when we got there, they told us they share equipment and can't guarantee anything. As we left, the chef was there and seemed disappointed, so we explained our situation. He said he used to be the chef at Taproot and they specialize in food allergies and dietary restrictions, so we went back to Taproot. I had a pizza the first night and it was great (though not very good leftover). The second time I got the chicken burger, where they made it a wrap with a gf tortilla. Amazing. Loved their tea, too!

A place where we felt 100% safe eating the GF items...and they were delicious, too. So many gluten free options and a separate oven for GF pizza! Fries are baked so no CC risk. Tacos were our favorite!

Very GF-friendly. Most items can be made GF if you request it. They don’t have GF bread, but they do have a GF wrap. My wife and I had the pear salad and the grilled cheese (made with a GF wrap), both of which were wonderful. Definitely recommend.

I had the best gluten free pizza I’ve ever had here. They have a dedicated oven where they make the GF pizzas and always wear gloves when handling GF items. I also had the peanut butter and chocolate dessert which was very yummy! This is a place I will definitely go back to!!!

We read others reviews and ate three meals at the Taproot Cider House during our visit to Traverse City. Our son was recently diagnosed as Celiac and this was our first vacation where we had to eat out 100%. He loved their GF pizza (baked in separate oven) and he loved their grilled cheese (best he has had) and the Chicken Royale on a GF wrap. I'd highly recommend this for the entire family but my son had three great non gluten meals.

Loved it! I had pork and whitefish tacos on corn tortillas from the appetizer menu. Soooo good! All their sandwiches can be done on Food For Life GF wraps. They have GF pizza crust (house made) and they offer Vegan (Daiya) cheese as a DF option. Everything was delicious!

Outstanding healthy sourced food, with a good variety of gluten-free options. There's an upcharge on some GF like the pizza, but it's a nice thin crust made there. We have 3 celiacs and all were very pleased. We will be back soon.

This restaurant does a homemade gluten free pizza crust that is out of this world! Also, the owner came out to tell me he had picked the mushrooms on my pizza just the day before. He made sure everything went well with our meal and the ciders were tasty too! Will definitely be back the next time I'm in town.
