Staff were not educated and even after explaining Coeliac I still got glutened. Food was also just alright.
I felt pretty safe eating here but the food, gluten free and non gluten free for the boyfriend, the tea, and the coffee were very lacking and subpar. I don't know, might have been an off day. Food was very mediocre, we infact got better breakfast at our hotel. No one seemed very welcoming. Overall not a great experience. Waited a long time to be sat and waited a long time for food.
Ate breakfast here this morning and it was good! There isn’t a huge variety on the menu for celiac but enough. You can get eggs and toast, meats, potato wedges, the full or mega Irish breakfast, and French toast. I had the two egg, GF toast, and bacon plate. It was simple but tasty! The restaurant had a “now hiring” sign out front and it was clear they needed more servers as the service was SLOW but everyone was kind and helpful. Just don’t go if you are on a time schedule!
Went here for lunch and ate on 2nd floor. Almost all sandwiches and wraps could be made gluten free. Multiple servers were made aware of my being celiac. Food and service were good and place was clean and nice. I had the chicken Caesar sandwich which was good. Bathrooms for us were on the 4th floor (not sure if they have any of first floor). If mobility is an issue this might be a problem.
Went here for a late lunch my first day in Dublin, as it had the best reviews where I was heading and I get nervous eating on my first day in a new city. Had the pulled pork sandwich with fries (separate fryer), tea, and the gluten free brownie for dessert after my waitress suggested it. She was also celiacs, which definitely helped me feel a lot safer! All of their drinks are gluten free and their options are pretty well varied, though there’s only a few desserts GF.
Wonderful meal. Service was great! We both had a sandwich. The chicken you cannot get in gluten free. All other sandwiches you can we had the pulled pork with slaw. Excellent tasting. I also did loaded fries with garlic mayo and parmesan really good. We also both had brownie with ice cream. Wonderful! Must get it!
Enjoyable full Irish breakfast in a kind of corny (but sweet) cafe. Loved the sausage! It was so tender. We went on a rainy morning, and it was warm and cozy inside. Staff was knowledgable about Celiac and as soon as my partner let them know, they said they’d relay to the kitchen to be careful with cross-contamination. We felt very taken care of. Note that the breakfast is quite massive, but truly tasty.
Had a quick breakfast here in Dublin. Lots of tasty options, but no pancakes so don’t get you hopes up ;)
I had the porridge bowl with berries, coconut, and granola. It was delicious!
The waiter said he would check if the oats were gluten free and didn’t end up getting back to me so I assume they were. I didn’t get sick, but you should ask before eating the oatmeal.
It was fine. I explained I am dairy and gluten free and there was 1 option that I could eat (the gluten free full or mega breakfast) but I needed to make sure that there was no butter in anything or used as a cooking oil.
The waiter was so confused and kept telling me the full/mega has gluten even though I was directly pointing at the GF one on the menu. Finally he understood I was pointing at the GF one and said it was fine.
Food came out and she said gluten free, so I asked about dairy and she said oh yes, and nut free too (I never mentioned nuts at all).
Did not feel safe eating here, only finished about 30% of the meal and then stressed for hours afterward. If you’re ONLY gluten free, it’s probably fine. But I would not recommend for multiple allergies.
I have eaten here multiple times and have never gotten sick I will say though I ordered in and also ordered something to go and when I paid the receipt did not say gluten free for my to go order so I double checked and he said I didn’t ask for it gluten free (i definitely did I am celiac so I would never not order gf) and they remade it for me so just definitely make it very clear when ordering. After reading some of these reviews it’s the reason I had double checked so i’m glad that I did! Otherwise I think this place is great.
I went to the Taste food company in Dublin City today for lunch. It has good reviews on find me gluten free. I ordered a club sandwich on gluten free bread. When it came out I asked the server if it was definitely the gf bread to which he said yes.
I started to eat the sandwich and as I was about halfway through I just had a gut feeling the bread was not gluten free. I asked a different server and he took one look at my Sandwich and said it was not gf and immediately took it away and profusely apologised after I said I was coeliac and had already double checked with the other waiter.
I unfortunately ate a whole half of a sandwich that was not gluten free. They offered me a free tea or coffee and offered to remake the sandwich, at this point I knew I just needed to start making my way home before I became unwell.
They took it off the bill but I asked to speak to the manager who asked for my name and number. He then proceeded to say he would call tomorrow to see “if” I was sick in the end and to see how bad I would be. I find it quite infuriating when people underestimate the severity of being glutened. It is not a fad or a choice, it is a disease and whether someone is symptomatic (I am) or not it still has long term affects on the gut.
I felt stupid for double checking but it just shows how important it is.
We had the Full Gluten Free breakfast. It was very tasty, fun and different. They were out of the gluten free sausage the morning we went but they substituted with a slice of bacon and asked us if that was ok. My family enjoyed it and we felt good afterwards. We needed the full breakfast energy!
Highly recommend this place. Amazing gluten free breakfast. The gluten free black pudding was super - not something that is common back home. The bread and coffee were very tasty. Great customer service and experience of tasty food.
It was lovely to have a breakfast with any gluten containing ingredients swapped out for non gluten, so it didn't feel like I was missing out on anything.
Gluten free brownies are also available on the dessert menu!
Probably our best meal in Dublin so far. All open faced sandwiches, wraps, and burgers can be made on GF bread. We (2 gf kids + 1 gf adult) arrived for a late lunch and ordered one gf hamburger and one gf ham and cheese melt sandwich from the kids menu. Also, ordered a gf open club sandwich from the adult menu. Maybe because it was getting late (2:30ish pm) but they were completely out of gf buns, wraps, and bread!! Yikes! But instead of making us order something else, they asked for patience and then they ran out and bought gf sandwich bread from the store a couple of blocks away! Talk about going ABOVE AND BEYOND! Plus the food was great. All of us enjoyed our meals and ate every bite. I highly recommend!
Nice place, knowledgeable staff, great flavor. Also, the sencha green tea is amazing.
