The menu says gluten-free options, but there really isn't because there's no gluten-free protein. The worker basically told me not to order here

The have an option for gluten free noodle but the charge you $6!! Outrageous. Noodles are good but way too overpriced! I also think they get a little mushy overtime in your bowl.

-2021 update- NO proteins are GF and you still need to pay extra for half as much food. Unclear if broths are safe either. I’m adding my name ti the lawsuit against them.

They marinate all their proteins in soy!

Don’t eat the protein or egg it has gluten it in. It’s messed up because I’ve come here for years and always got sick but kept coming back cause it is extremely good and now they decide to tell you the meats are marinated in soy sauce!

Did you know that they marinate every single protein and that includes eggs in soy sauce. The only way you could truly eat gluten free at this establishment is if you only get noodles please DO NOT GO here if you want anything other than just noodles in your meal.

Sadly we ate here last night, and had gluten attacks all night. It stinks because the food is yummy, but way too many gluten land mines to avoid when building your meal.

They have delicious ramen, but I'd steer clear of this place. I've been glutened twice now. Once they gave me regular wheat noodles instead of gluten free, and I only noticed after taking a bite.

They used to have extremely good gluten free food, but now none of the proteins and egg are, which leaves you with a sub par bowl of noodles and salty broth. On an unrelated note, their pickup system is heavily flawed and they are constantly forgetting parts of your meal. I do not recommend for people who have intense gluten allergies

I used to love them— they had lab-tested gf ramen, tons of gf add-ons like spinach and corn. Now they’ve changed recipes, and the pork isn’t gf, but they don’t tell you that: you can just casually order pork w your gf noodles online and gluten yourself. You can’t get thru to a person to ask questions on the phone. The chicken (the only gf protein) is bland and dry. Last time I ordered 3 ramens from them, they came very late, only 1 was safe to eat (despite our putting allergy warning notes on every bowl we ordered), and the side spinach came with gluten noodle bits in it. Tons of cross contamination, no apologies, no concessions made. Not cool, not safe.

So many options! the ramen is absolutely to die for, and I didn’t feel sick after wards (just very full!). It’s kind of pricey but absolutely worth it!
I know it says gluten free and has so many great reviews but it didn’t pass my Nima sensor :( I didn’t eat it so I can’t be certain it would make you sick but didn’t want to chance it.
I saw a lot of risk of cross contamination, not because they weren’t careful, but just because of the nature of ramen and its broth flying around the kitchen. I saw they were careful, Nima tested negative for gluten, hippie ramen was delicious!
The staff knows what’s going on and is very careful

Very good for being gluten free! Easily delivered to my house and filling! It does cost $6 to upgrade to gf ramen noodles, but I couldn’t pass up the idea of ramen!!!
Yes
It's very tasty! And they have a gluten free ramen.

It's SO rare to have a GF ramen option that my excitement for this place almost forgives the extra expensive price. The ramen is delicious - rich and flavorful with a few different options to choose. All the GF ingredients are separate from the regular ramen in the kitchen and they do boil in separate water! The noodles are imported from Japan, thus the extra pricing. But like I said the ramen is good and the offering so rare I can justify the bump. I hope the GF option their menu finds a lot of fans so that other restaurants will follow suit.
They do not have GF soy sauce in house so fried rice is t an option. It seems they also have some soy sauce in their proteins in the ramen so that makes their 100% GF claim suspect. A manager said it has all been tested and passes the GF minimum (assuming 20ppm) but worth noting for Celiac.

Never gotten sick here! The hippie ramen with gf noodles is delicious, but they always forget some toppings! Definitely not $ though, it’s $6 extra just for the gf noodles. It’s an expensive but good bowl of ramen.
Their ramen is fantastic! Basically all ramen bowls (except for Soul) can be made GF- though for $6 in addition to the bowl price. I recommend ordering your ramen 20min before everyone in your group since they have to make the gluten free ramen from scratch in a safe area- even your ramen bowl color is different so the servers know. I've eaten here twice now and had no reactions.
Ramen was great!!! Was awesome to be able to eat something different while visiting LA. Just beware the fried rice isn't gluten free.
Delicious gluten free ramen from a ramen bar is a dream come true! I loved the food because it's lab tested for gluten and delicious. Note: It may be hard to gain staff attention because the ordering process is self served- the restaurant was also super busy. However, speak to the host and they'll guide you on your gluten free options.

this was the most ridiculous resturaunt ive ever been too in LA. i was expecting something amazing...no...not at all. the wait alone was 45 minutes and you have to wait outside. not to mention the rude waiters. Aside from this, the ramen was the most grossest thing ive ever had, just take normal gluten free noodles (italian) from a grocery store and put it in miso soup. GROSS. Not to mention, there was an EGG in my noodles that was raw on the inside....and this was normal, but it still makes my skin crawl even the day after. i didnt finish it and i could not take it. $12 for a normal ramen bowl but because of "gf" they added an extra $6 which made my bowl over priced and ridulous. on top of all of thi, this is not safe for any celiacs they are re using the same spoons to fill other bowls as well as urs....i asked if the chilli powder was gluten free and the response to this was..."gluten free? well its not like itz bad for you!". at that point i was about done. This wasnt worth $52 and its just water mixed in regular corn noodles! so disappointed....my skin is still crawling of how gross it was....my food is coming back up writing this...

Fantastic! Gluten free noodles but you gotta pay extra
$6 up charge for really awful gf noodles. They have a strange gritty consistency, and feel like uncooked pasta. They also taste really off, almost reminiscent of the smell of play-doh. Rice noodles would have been much better, but I thought this place would give me a close-to-the-real-thing experience.
There’s gluten in all the proteins so no truly safe option if celiac (assuming this is a soy marinade). My intolerance allows me to have a tiny bit of gluten if I take an enzyme pill, but I didn’t end up eating much anyway. Pork tasted off and it wasn’t worth the glutening.
I ended up letting the person at the counter know the noodles were bad, hoping they just hadn’t been cooked properly, and he said “I know, they’re really bad that’s just how gf noodles are” and refunded the $6. Unfortunately, you have to order from iPads here so you lose out on the ability to speak with a server and be warned off initially.
The fact that people with health issues have to pay such a steep up-charge to eat is frustrating enough, but to charge so much for a product even the staff know is bad is really sleazy.
The search continues for the gf ramen of my dreams.

It's EXPENSIVE. Like scary expensive. And the gf menu is almost purposefully unclear. I wouldn't eat here if I we're celiac. I have an intolerance that's pretty symptomatic but I have gotten the traditional ramen with gf noodles and meat and been fine multiple times. But the menu is confusing and pretty much makes it sound like all meat options have gluten. So idk. I've been alright but this place is definitely a gamble. They tout gf and then once you're in the menu system they are a major let down. Good ramen, though.

I order here for my kids with celiac and myself about once a month. The gluten free up charges are steep, but here’s why: they import their specially selected GF ramen noodles from Japan. They cost $6 extra. Their broths are all GF except one. They label the choices well but it’s best to talk with staff if confused. They do indicate on their menu that their protein and egg have gluten. AND they have tested them to be under 20ppm. That said, if you are sensitive or celiac, do NOT eat an extra helping of egg or meat. I ate 2 eggs one night with my pork and did have a reaction. - my sister didn’t want her egg, I didn’t think about it. — it was a mild reaction, but yes. And they don’t hide that from anyone. So you just need to order carefully. Otherwise, we have never had a problem. We do all take our GliadinX enzyme with the meal, just in case. I also have my kids take that with every meal out for their celiac, just in case. Anyhow the ramen is yummy and I very much appreciate that they work hard to make a GF option! They label everything very well on the takeout containers and in the restaurant the bowls are a different color.
