Delicious chicken especially the thigh meat. Only one of their sauces is gluten free. We need to convince the restaurant to use tamari instead of soy sauce. All the extra visitors will make up for the extra cost.
Delicious GF karaage. Dedicated fryer, limited menu. But if you want some yummy Japanese fried chicken, this is the place. : )
So ONLY the chicken and one sauce and rice are gf. The curry is not gf. If you want fried chicken and plain white rice only, this might be your place. But, I was disappointed and lost confidence then I was first told the curry was safe, and then upon pick up that it “just had a little” gluten. There are better places. Pass. (For gf chicken and gf curry- try Pikunico)
It's an amazing little fried chicken place. It's on the upper floor of a Japanese shopping center.
They're super friendly, despite someone's most recent statement, their fryers are dedicated gluten free. Literally everything they cook in their fryers is gluten free.
They do have a few glutinous items, because they have soy sauce in them, but they never touch the fryers.
The chicken is FANTASTIC!!! Great flavor, good crunch, and just the right label. Of seasoning.
I will be back... A Lot!!!
Was excited that this place was opening with gluten free fried chicken on Sawtelle but turns out they are not actually gluten free. They fry all their gluten and non gluten items in the same fryer and have only one gluten free sauce. Probably okay for someone with a minor allergy but not ok for a celiac.
Japanese fried chicken using Potato starch. According to the employee all the fried chicken is gluten free and it’s all labeled as such because they use potato starch. Only thing that’s not gluten free are most of the sauces, but he was able to point me to the one that was. If you’re craving fast-casual popcorn chicken or Japanese karaage and you’re gluten free this place is worth it.
