They were so nice & accommodating! Not only is my daughter Gluten free but also can't eat garlic & onion. The woman taking g our order told us that the chucken & turkey were her best options. We all had the turkey & it was delicious! She even made sure not to include the onions on her tray! She had the sweet potato fries (in a dedicated fryer) and she had no issues at all. We will definitely be back!
So glad we went here! Staff knowledgeable and helpful, there are only a couple things on the menu that DO contain gluten. Food was really good, all the meat sauces were gluten free except one, which the bartender took off the table right away. Only gave 4 heart safety review bc it is not dedicated gluten free.
Saw really great reviews from the FMGF app and gave it a try on our road trip home. Ordered online using the Gluten Allergy selection and then called to follow up with which items needed to be GF. Great selection, yummy food. Take proper precautions on the kitchen. Would eat here again!
Don't miss out on this place! All the meats are gf, all the sides except for Mac and cheese are gf, and the banana pudding is gf on request, with no Nilla Wafers. Fast service and really really good food! I'm not even a sweet potato fry girl, but they were really good! Only one sauce is not gf, the pepper vinegar. The XXX sauce is delicious and VERY hot!
Dedicated flyer. Most things on their menu are gluten free. They know exactly which items aren’t GF, and that list is tiny compared to what is GF. Their sweet potato waffle fries were tasty. We liked all their different kinds of meat. Our order included pulled pork, chicken, brisket, and ribs. We will come here again. Celiac Friendly
Cute bbq spot with a nice patio. I Ordered a little of everything. I had the fried chicken nuggets and fries which were the highlight out of everything I ordered. The sausage was really good. The brisket was good, the burnt tips were dry and too salty. The ribs were dry. The mustard was really good on the nuggets The only non gluten free items were the macaroni and obviously the bread/desserts. She did say they could make me a banana pudding without wafers.
Absolutely delish! My daughter and I have celiac. I was so grateful to hear they have a dedicated GF fryer. We both ordered the adult chicken nugget meal with fries. The chicken was perfectly crispy. I also got a side of collard greens and a Mango Nojito. Everything was so fresh! Fast service. Our whole family loved everything we ordered. We will definitely add this to our future road trip options!
I got the gluten free chicken nuggets and fries and wow they’re SO GOOD. If you’ve ever had the chicken nuggets from disney (the ones from backlot express at hollywood studios) they taste so similar. crunchy and flavorful, you could give these to someone who eats gluten and they wouldn’t even notice.
The food was absolutely delicious! We will definitely be back. I made it clear I needed GF due to Celiac and they brought the food out with a regular bun sitting on top of the chicken and brisket. The manager, Caroline, was very gracious and willing to make accommodations and explained she was going to talk to her staff about because they have gone thru extensive training on GF.
Delicious, locally owned and dedicated fryer.
Almost everything here is gf, even the chicken nuggets!!! I get the adult nuggets with fries, hubby often gets the wings, we also enjoy the pulled pork and brisket.
I've never had an issue eating here and have been eating at both locations for years. I seriously can't say enough good things about this place, they even fed us after our apartment flooded years ago. Just the best.
Please support local spots that provide safe food.
They are very knowledgeable about what is gluten free! They are many options. They do not have gluten free buns but they do have gluten free fries and nuggets
Delicious food, with most items being gluten free. Staff was knowledgeable about gluten free and the menu was super clear at them counter. All sauces except the vinegar based one were also GF. I’m very sensitive and have eaten at two of their locations multiple tomes with no issues.
This place is awesome! Great food, friendly people and you feel like you’re at a family picnic. They have gluten free chicken nuggets and fries-only things that go in the fryer. Brisket and sausage were very good too. Great stop on our way to Savannah. Casual-place your order then find a table inside or outside. Gets crowded, but they move quickly.
Amazing food and very knowledgeable about gluten free and what they have. I asked about gluten free and the cashier immediately said everything that W as gluten free including the specific barbecue sauces on the table, also immediately said they have a dedicated fryer, didn't even have to ask anymore questions. Loved it.
All their sauces are gluten free. I had the brisket and the pulled pork. Both were really good
This place is great. Most everything is gluten free (besides Mac and cheese and deserts). Dedicated fryer for the fries which is always exciting. My boyfriend and I shared the San Marcos platter. My only complaint is that they put a roll in the box even after we asked them not to. When we told them what happened though they immediately gave us a completely new order and apologized for the mistake. There is a button on their monitor for a gluten allergy so make sure you tell the cashier. If we come back to Jacksonville we will absolutely stop here again, I was very impressed with both the service and the food!
Very disappointing. After reading the reviews, I was so excited to try the poutine. When ordering I asked about gf. The cashier knew nothing. First she said they can’t do gf, then She said they can then she said everything was gf. I asked specifically about the poutine. She said no because of the cheese sauce. So I asked, are the fried in a dedicated fryer? She responded NO. Ordered the brisket and nothing else. She did not mark the ticket gf and said she told the kitchen verbally for gf protocol. Meat was tender. I did not get sick.
Saw the reviews and stopped by with the fam to kick the tires. Busy bbq place with easy ordering, quick line, great seating areas inside and especially outdoors, a bar with GF beer, and great food. The menu has only one item marked GF - the nuggets. Like below you can ask for the adult size with two sides. Not sure why they don’t mark many other things as GF when they are, after they go to the trouble of marking the nuggets. Like the meats- all GF, simply cooked, not over spiced/rubbed, and if you like fatty brisket then giddy up, this is your spot; also great turkey and chicken. The ribs- have had way better. The ribs are good, not great. At least our batch. The sides are terrific- the beans probably the best I’ve ever had, sweetened with a combination of different sized beans. The Cole slaw and especially collards were also terrific. Potato salad was nice. Poutine- we shamelessly tore into that. Now the fries- from their dedicated fryer - simply delicious with just salt and pepper added. Sauces all GF except the vinegar one. All around great experience. Surprisingly only mid range prices.
Gold standard for how a restaurant should operate. Our bartender had celiac so she made sure to enter our stuff properly. As other reviewers have said - the poutine, pork rhind nachos and chicken nuggies are excellent. I can legitimately eat here worry free.
Pro tip: sit at the bar. The bartenders are very good and knowledgeable. The cashiers are 50/50
Delicious BBQ and great atmosphere. Most items on the menu are gf, with exception to the Mac and cheese and macaroni salad (from what we were told. I didn’t ask about the desserts. Poutine was amazing!! Cobb salad with champagne vinaigrette was pretty good. Oh yeah, they also have gf chicken nuggets on the kids menu and I was told the “secret menu item” is a larger portion of nuggies for adults :)
Nothing on the menu is marked as gf but a good chunk of the menu can be prepared that way, you just need to let them know and they'll change their gloves, use clean knives, etc. They'll also tell you what you can have, including which bbq sauce you can't eat (the vinegar one). I felt fine after my meal - brisket and potato salad
Bar staff Sam was amazing. She was extremely knowledgeable and told me staff would change their gloves for me. Had the San Marco platter and the nachos excellent , she even recommended a High Noon vodka peach seltzer which was delish. Separate area for families so kid friendly too. Outdoor indoor sports bar vibe. Was very clean. Would highly recommend
I went here last night with some friends, and I was a little nervous since they were very busy. But when I went up to the register, explained that I had celiac not a gluten intolerance, immediately one of the managers jumped in and communicated over their radio that my ticket number would require a change of gloves, etc. I asked them what the most celiac safe food was, they confirmed that the bulk of the menu could be made gluten free. So I went with the half pound of brisket and potato salad.
When my food was brought out, my server confirmed that this was a celiac order, and reminded me which sauce I should not eat. The communication here is fantastic, the food is pretty good and I'm feeling fine a day later. 5/5 stars!
Best Food ! Most amazing chicken nuggets ever ! It’s a go too for us !
They knew exactly what I could eat (everything but pasta, desserts, buns, and one BBQ sauce) and were friendly when I emphasized my need to have my food prepared without touching the other food in my party’s order. The BBQ was delicious- ribs are HUGE! I also loved the outdoor space, they had solid chairs and s nice atmosphere. Grateful for a good spot for dinner while traveling!
The staff here was really helpful. Almost everything on the menu is available gluten free - including banana pudding. I tried the chicken nuggets as well - really good!
What an awesome place! Bartender who took our meal order knew excatly what menu items I couldnt have! (Regular menu is pretty much all GF!!!!) Delicious and affordable! They even have GF beer and a dedicated fryer! I'm Celiac and super sensitive and the only bellyache I had was from over eatting!
The staff was knowledgeable, I felt comfortable ordering. The food was delicious and most of the menu was gf. I’d definitely go back or recommend.
Second review: Went back a second time and was told I couldn’t have something I had the first time. I emailed the manager later and was told I could have it and everyone was properly trained and over precautious. Being told yes, no, yes doesn’t make me feel comfortable and not sure who really knows what’s safe. The food was delicious though. Not sure I’d go back.
The food here is amazing! Everyone was extremely knowledge about gluten free options. I am an extremely sensitive Celiac and had no problems at all. I had the brisket, chicken, coleslaw, and banana pudding. Everything was phenomenal. This is the most I've enjoyed eating out in a long time.
Went there with our 4 kids that have celiac disease and had a wonderful experience. Emailed the owner prior to going and he was very informed and helpful. The staff was just as informed and helpful when we got there. They could eat any of the a la crate meats and sides like potato salad, baked beans and French fries!! And the food was wonderful!!
