They offer gluten free bread and prepare gluten free sandwiches in a separate area and will mark them as an allergy or preference. My NIMA sensor showed gluten free, and I did not get sick (I am very sensitive). Their sandwiches are small but pretty much the same size as the non-gf ones. They also have a section of gf crackers, rice, and pasta although many of the crackers have dairy. I am able to eat non-cow dairy, but I didn’t see any vegan cheese options. I bought pre-packaged goat cheese, so I am not sure how they prepare/cut the other cheeses.

I ate and had no problems. The staff seemed knowledgeable, so I would say it is safe, but that’s about it. Totally bland lunch meat sandwiches on white sandwich bread. As boring as food can be.

Great experience. Got GF roast beef & cheddar sandwich on toasted gf bread. No symptoms next day. Also loved assorted gf items on sale in store. Bought gf crackers, cookies & cheese dip to enjoy. Would def return if we had more time.

Currently only serving sandwiches a few days a week due to staff shortage.
They can make all of their sandwiches gluten free! I felt super safe because the lady who I ordered from even put a sticker on my order that says allergy. The lady told me that they use Udi’s gf bread. They also have a good amount of gf boxed goods in their store. Great place for celiacs!

Uh…No! Just no. I was so disappointed in this place. They were crazy busy, super long lines. When I finally made my way to the front of the line to order a gluten free sandwich or lunch, a very rude lady, said, “oh no we don’t have anything for you today” and pointed to a sad looking rack of boxes of GF crackers and walked away. So, I chose a box of full price Mary’s Crackers from the rack and then Proceeded to get in yet another line with hopes of finding a safe cheese to put on my lonely crackers. The lady in that line had no idea which cheeses were GF since many had extra things in them. I settled on a plain small block of cheddar and went and found a table with my friend ( she said her normal sandwich was really dry) They did give me a tiny plate and knife to cut my cheese block for my crackers. Unfortunately, I do realize they were very busy, but won’t be able to get past the rude employees that I encountered. So sad and disappointed, had heard such good things.

We had an excellent experience after finding this restaurant/ shop on the app! They have Udis GF bread for sandwiches. In the shop, they have GF chips and a small GF section of other things. Kids and adults liked it! Casual environment with outdoor seating.

We didn’t eat here, but we bought some things from the store. However, when checking out the lady told me about the deli with GF bread choices for sandwiches. We went back the next day, but they were closed.
We bought some cheese and snacks. They had a great assortment of GF snacks, beer, and cider.

Had a terrible grilled cheese on Udi’s bread. Not even grilled. I think it was just stale bread. Just awful. I threw it out. The worst part is that I waited 30 minutes for it. Don’t waste your time.

Delicious! All sandwiches can be made on Udis bread or bagels. The person who took my order was very knowledgeable about celiac and made a specific note on the order form for the kitchen. The food was great, and I didn’t feel sick at all!

The staff was extremely knowledgeable & absolutely took care to handle a gluten and dairy free meal. Perfect for lunch after a day of ambling around colonial Williamsburg.

The Cheese shop is one of our favorite places to eat in colonial Williamsburg. The staff was very Knowledgeable and helpful. We really enjoy their tuna salad with grapes and walnuts. They offer gluten-free bread along with other gluten-free options. The outdoor setting is very pleasant! We highly recommend trying this place.
Good GF sandwiches. Plenty of side items in the shop that are also GF and some dairy free.

I am Celiac and didn't get sick. They have a ton of cheeses to try. Let them know you have an allergy and they will get clean/different set of cheese cutters. Only cheese that has gluten is the beer cheese. They have cheese plates to eat right away, you can buy cheese to go, and there are wines you can drink too. Delicious!

The staff was sensitive to gluten free and allergy needs with a sticker put on the order and a sign reassuring their commitment to safe food. The order taker said they have a separate prep area. My daughter ate safely. Oh, and the sandwiches were very good.

Best Sami ever! They have sandwich bread and some other store foods inside. Gf beer too

Excellent sandwiches. Knowledgeable staff. Dedicated area for gluten free prep. Order is flagged for Celiac. Not sure if they have a separate toaster for gluten free bread.
Yes
The staff we spoke with were knowledgeable. They also had a section that was items that were gluten free from mixes to chips, crackers, cookies and etc.

didn't start out well staff told me they only had veggies that were gf but then spoke with manager who made all things right. almost everything on menu gf. Prices good for downtown Colonial Williamsburg.
Great sandwiches for a good price, my son loved his grilled cheese. Then, we went back and he got a turkey sandwich. I highly recommend it.
Very good food. Kind of pricy. My kiddos where excited to get GF grilled cheese sandwiches. I had the egg salad sandwhich on GF bread. My mom had the GF roast beef and she really liked it.

If you have celiac, do not eat here.
I explained I was celiac during the order, and they marked the order as GF with a green dot and said the prep area would be cleaned. It was still contaminated, because despite being on Udi's bread, I got very sick after eating the sandwhich and am still sick. Be warned.

Good bread and sandwich. They understood celiac and marked out order as GF
Yes
good gluten free sandwiches, just make sure to check that it's right before leaving! I've had a couple of issues with this, but they're always willing to re-make the sandwich correctly.
Yes
they have Udis bread and bagels. I had a ham and cheese sandwich and my husband had a egg salad sandwich. very tasty.
Excellent cheese and noce selection of gf specialty foods.
Yummy. Took allergen issue seriously & called it out to the kitchen. They have Udi's GF white bread or bagel... Lots of fun things to put on the sandwich to liven it up. Only downside is that it is apparently crazy busy every Sat at lunch - it was chaos when we went, and we were told it was slow for a Sat. We chose GF sweet potato chips to go along with the sandwich. Wine & cheese - you could skip the sandwich!
It is a bit pricey for gf. However, they took my order and told me that I couldn't have the house dressing that came with my sandwich due to it having malted vinegar. Offered other choices (mayo, mustard) instead.
Lots of gf flours that you don't normally see and cookies!
Gluten free bread and bagel. Good sandwiches. Beautiful outdoor dining.
We did not get the impression that the ladies that took our order were very knowledgeable nor did they let us know about all of the gluten-free options. We ended up ordering our food and later realizing that we could have gotten a better sandwich. The price was not impressive either.
Surprised to find easy gluten free in downtown Williamsburg. Didn't get sick and had a yummy turkey Sandwich.
This sandwich shop was awesome! Many choices and they have a gluten free bagel and white bread option. The bagel was great.
Staff was knowledgable about the allergens, friendly, told me that the staff change their gloves and clean their work stations when someone orders gluten free. I had absolutely no reaction to the sandwich I ate. Also could have ordered on a gluten free bagel.
