A nice quirky diner-type restaurant with a fun and varied menu ( heavy on the omelettes obviously). The food is tasty and the restaurant is clean. There is an option for GF bread but you must know to ask for it, it's not listed on the menu. Many menu items are naturally GF but unfortunately everything is prepared on a communal griddle-top. I did ask for them to clean a section of the grill before cooking my meal, but be aware that cross contamination is a significant problem.
Ont he plus side they offer grits or fruit as an option to toast and home fries. I wouldn't recommend the home fries as they are pre-cooked in large portions on the griddle top so cross contamination is probable.
I experienced some small but tolerable symptoms about an hour post meal, which for me indicates trace contamination. If you are only mild/moderately intolerant like me, than this might be an option for you. People with severe intolerances or celiac should not eat here.
Before I was diagnosed as a celiac I loved this place but was recently very disappointed. There are gluten free options and even gluten free rolls by request but I went in on a Sunday and they did not try to accommodate me at all. I was told that especially on Sundays the cooks refuse to clean off a small section of the grill top or any spatulas for those with special dietary needs. All I could get was a fruit cup :(
I only gave one star because they had gluten free rolls. With that being said I would not recommend anyone going here. They have nothing of options and if you are as sensitive as me to gluten I would not risk your health. They said they could give me fruit so I went with that. Clear as day on the plate were crumbs and somehow a piece of broccoli ended up in the fruit?! Not sure how that works but I figured I'd give others a chance to run from this place before they get suckered in by the previous reviews like I did.
What a neat, off the beaten path find! Waitress (Kyla) couldn't have been more attentive or helpful, even though at 9 on a Sunday morning they were quite busy. Menu was creative, with plenty of gluten free options, including gluten free rolls. Hash browns were particularly good. Basically a diner with creative flair. We were pleasantly surprised!
Creative food ideas!! Friendly staff and gluten free bread!!
