Food was pretty good, I got a veggie skillet with a side of fruit instead of the GF toast (they are pretty up front about their shared toaster and kitchen space). As another review mentioned, the veggies were sort of weirdly half cooked. I didn’t mind for the most part, but I probably wouldn’t have gotten onions in my skillet if I had known they’d basically be raw. Service was quick and the staff was nice, although I’m always a little peeved when I order from a GF menu but the server doesn’t specifically put “gluten allergy” on the order (part of the reason I always ask for a receipt!).
We substituted pancakes for GF pancakes in the kids meal and the kids loved it. I had low fat scrambled eggs , with tomatoes instead of hashbrowns and GF toast. It was great for my gluten allergic and my gluten sensitive children. it was a little expensive though, that is why I gave it 4 stars.
went here twice during my vacation it was so good! one of the biggest selections for gluten free I've seen including breakfast and lunch. they have GF bread for toast or sandwiches. Food was delicious and I didn't get sick at all (I have celiac) wish I lived here so I could go here again!
Does not have gluten free, just gluten sensitive. I ordered gluten free pancakes. They tasted good but I did get sick. My husband ordered eggs bacon and pancakes. He said tasted bland boxed food. He said Just go to Denny's it is cheaper.
Great GF place. I explained to the manager my issues with Celiac and my concern with cross contamination she was very knowledgable everything was perfect. I enjoyed my greek omelette with hash browns. Beware they do not have a dedicated toaster for the GF bread!
Delicious!!! I got some eggs, seasoned potatoes and GF blueberry pancakes. Probably some of the absolute BEST GF pancakes I've ever had! It's a TON of food for the price, too. Not sure if I'll get sick or not since I just finished eating, but taste/quality definitely deserves 5 stars!
They want to help but cross contamination seems highly likely. On the phone they seemed to be “gluten free” but upon arrival the miscommunication became clear. This is a gluten friendly place. Not gluten free. 3 starts for heart and effort. Minus two for major safety concerns. Beware of the soy as well
Not gluten friendly and definitely not for anyone with Celiacs. The server was honest and told me not to order anything other than a GF muffin which came to them sealed. It was not very good and was put in the microwave way too long. They use the same grill and prep areas for gluten food as they do for gluten free. They share utensils, will not use clean ones and would not scramble eggs in a clean pan for me even though I am severely allergic. They refused and said I should only order the crappy muffin to be safe. She said even the salads are cross contaminated. Her sister and her mom have Celiacs and cannot eat there. Stay away from this place. I would give 0 stars if I could.
Not quite sure of the negative reviews because me and my family went there and had probably one of the best breakfasts ever. I'm not kiddin, we really enjoyed it so much that we are planning on going back before we leave town. The kids are asking to go back.
Our waiter seemed very helpful and I was excited about the gluten free options. I was very sick within a few short minutes. Obviously they don't know what gluten free means and their staff need to be trained. I'm afraid to eat here again. I won't be back.
Went here when visiting family. Chose this restaurant specifically because it said they have a gluten free menu. There was a special menu but other than having an omelet everything else didn't seem safe. I explained to the waitress that I had celiac and all I wanted was an omelet as the hash browns and toast were not safe for me to eat. When my food came out it had hash browns on half of my plate. I was out with family and was annoyed and slightly embarrassed that I would have to send my food back (and the waitress was not friendly) so I ate the portion of the eggs that were not touching the hash browns. Still got sick. :( it wasn't even busy in the restaurant when we went for brunch. I won't be returning.
Went to the Henderson location. Terrible!! Here is a thought. When stating you can do gluten free and that you kitchen staff has been trained on it try starting with clean tables and silverware and plates. My kids had an omelet with cheese and bacon and opted out of the hash-browns for fruit. The youngest was sick with in 15 min. In the restaurants defense someone reported it wrong and the menu is NOT gluten free but sensitive. No different then the dominos menu that states NOT okay for Celiac Disease. I have contacted the site to have that changed!! On the food end of it, I ordered off the regular menu and it really was nothing to write home about so there will be no point in stopping there again.
Large gluten free menu and knowledgeable staff. Ordered the scramble with hashbrowns since seasoned potatoes are featured in a shared fryer. They have gluten free toast that they will pan fry for those with celiac otherwise they toast it with regular bread. Yummy food!
I can not believe that The Cracked Egg received 5 stars. The only thing that the dinner had correct was that it does serve gluten free items as they advertise. We called the dinner to make sure we didn't need a reservation and when asked they replied that none was needed and we would be seated in 5 minutes of arrival. However when we arrived they denied the call and said we needed to wait 45 minutes to be seated. They have no proper waiting area and it is so small that we found ourselves squeezed out and having to wait out in the rain. The food was average at best and the rest tasted old and as if it was frozen for a long period of time. The service was terrible and we had to wait as people who came after us received their food. Our server was so uninformed of the menu and options that the only answers he could provide was "I'm sure we can for a small cost". We found ourselves ill and uncomfortable when we left and as bad as our food was we seemed to have been given the royal treatment compared to the man we passed on the way out who was vigorously taking pictures of his served plate and saying "how dare you serve people this gross food!", demanding they take his food away immediately. If I could give negative stars I would our money is budgeted and to have such a waste of money and time is discouraging and makes our family prefer to splurge on home cooked meals instead of contributing to the community with our funds.
Saw that this chain had good ratings for Gluten-free eats so I thought I'd give it a try. I heard good reviews about the gluten-free pancakes. When the waitress came over to take our order, she warned me that the GF pancakes were cooked on the same cook top as the gluten-filled pancakes and that I better know my tolerance level, the GF menu also mentioned that they have GF toast but it was toasted in the gluten-filled toaster. I ordered a skillet with scrambled eggs, hash browns, cheese, and bacon with untoasted GF bread. The waitress asked if I wanted the bread warmed in the microwave instead. The bread was served hot in a plastic pouch. Skillet was good, GF with no ill effects, but it was nothing special. I appreciate that the waitress was straight and told me the truth.
mixed on this one. DH loved it. his burger looked divine. he eats gluten. DDs ordered chocolate chip pancakes and we asked for them gf. they looked lovely, nice and fluffy. looks like they might use Pamelas pancake mix. i recognized those brown flecks. (since they dont mention, ask what they use if you are allergic to nuts bc Pamelas has nuts). I ordered the Kicken Potatoes, with a side of eggs to put on top. pretty tasty, tho left under the broiler a bit too long. my biggest reason for a 3 star is that our waitress didn't know what gluten is....I suggest you ask for a wait person who is familiar with glutenfree. Also some stuff is canned or frozen. we asked if the chicken tenders could be made glutenfree and she came back and said they are pre-packed frozen, so no. So it's mixed. it's pretty good, more pluses than minuses, but the minuses are significant. for instance, they warn you that they have gf bread, but it will be toasted in a shared toaster. so I had to take all bread out of my consideration because I'm sensitive. the frustrating thing is, go buy a new toaster for $30 and label it GLUTENFREE Bread only! Then they can sell more and ensure more safety for their guests.
