We had a wonderful meal at Dandelion! Separate GF menu with many options. Our server was great and food was delicious. I plan on returning!
I got sick :(
Our server brought us the gluten free menu (woohoo!) but I ordered the Chicken Tandoori (not on the GF menu.. but she said it was 100% gluten free)..
It was sooo yummy and I am new to being celiac so maybe I should’ve realized?
Either way I was in extreme pain within the hour. I am afraid there must’ve been some sort of cross contamination.
It looks like mine was just a one off experience compared to the other reviews :)
I was very excited by the menu. The atmosphere was unique and adorable - perfect for the ambiance and history of Philadelphia. Unfortunately since I have a dairy allergy as well, it narrowed my choices immensely. They were great about food suggestions and I had the steak with roasted carrots - flavors were amazing!
I was here for brunch and had a great experience. I tried the gout cheese omelet and smoked salmon. Both very good and safe and didn’t get sick. Just the portions were not super filling since they removed the carb part and didn’t have gf substitutes. The place has a beautiful decoration as well.
The ambiance of this restaurant was so fun! They had a decent selection of gluten free options. And it was nice to be able to get a cheeseboard with apple slices subbed for crackers! I got the Scottish Salmon, which was pretty good. I appreciated that the server asked me about cross contamination concerns, and he told me he'd let the kitchen know.
I had a great experience here tonight! I got the Dandelion salad with salmon and the whipped ricotta with apples to sub for the bread. The waiter told me they take allergies very seriously and that the waiters have a conversation about allergies with the chef. He even told me that I would be safer with pan seared salmon instead of grilled salmon because bread is warmed on the grill. The food was delicious and I did not get sick!
They have a GF menu and not only know about cross contamination, but our waiter specified that certain condiments on other dishes were not GF in case we were sharing. Love the GF menu, but wish there was more variety. The answer to some of the apps was to sub crackers/bread for apples or cucumbers, which gets the job done, but does change the flavor of things. There are brunch and snack/appetizer options, but both main entrees on the GF menu when I was there were meat.
Excellent selection!! Very knowledgeable about gluten. Felt safe and had no issues.
I have celiac disease and my husband has a shellfish allergy. They made sure the food was free of those allergies. There is a seperate gluten free menu. I got the chicken tandoori and it was so delicous. I felt great the next day and did not get sick. Great bartender and atmosphere. Would definitely go back!
British pub type food. They have a separate gluten free menu but some of the items on the menu say 'contain trace amounts of gluten' and the fried are cooked in the same fryer as other foods so need to be cautious of cross contamination if you're celiac. I went for the risotto as felt this would be safest and it was delicious.
