I would not say it’s celiac friendly if you are super sensitive. I started feeling sick just sitting in the restaurant. There is flour in the air! Also the staff were not super sure they could fix any food safely. They were like we can try but if you get sick off gluten it’s a risk. I ended up leaving before eating. I appreciate their honesty though.
The Flying Biscuit Cafe has so many gluten free options! On the menu, there is a gf beside anything that is gluten free (no changes required). I had the egg-ceptional eggs which was 2 black bean cornmeal cakes with 2 over easy eggs, green tomatillo salsa, feta cheese, and sour cream. It came with a side of grits which were awesome. Just make sure to ask for no biscuit.
Said do the best we can but probably not safe for celiacs.
Several gf breakfast selections. Most dishes come with a biscuit, even if marked gf - make sure to tell them to leave it off or it will be on your plate. Food is good. Husband loved the non gf pancakes. Some interesting breakfast options you won’t see elsewhere.
I would avoid this place especially if you have celiac. The server was not knowledgeable at all and told us the açaí bowl was GF but it had granola on it that had wheat in it. She literally rolled her eyes at me when I told her I had a gluten allergy and was super rude to me and my whole party. Also found hairs in my napkin and in my food. This place is gross.
Very good gluten free french toast. However, most of their meals include a gluten biscuit, which they placed on top of the gluten free food. Fortunately, our celiac daughter is not highly sensitive.
I was worried when I went after reading some of the reviews from other locations. Here's my take:Not Celiac friendly. There is too much stuff in the air that's not controllable by the kitchen. Make sure you ask about everything. Take nothing for granted. So being paranoid helped me enjoy myself immensely. I had the vegan scramble thing. So good.
Honestly, I'm not a big breakfast person, but this place makes some really good food. The first time I went there, they places non gluten free biscuits on my plate though I told them it needs to be gluten free. I don't have cross contamination issues, so it wasn't a big deal, but if you do have issues, make sure to stress that no bread can be placed on the plate. Each meal comes with bread, I believe. The awesome thing was that they had gluten free bread to have with my meal! I will definitely come back!
OMG!! Love the Flying Biscuit!! They have gluten free, dairy free bread for your meal!! And they have very good gluten free options for other foods as well like gluten free grits, omelets, and even their famous Flying Biscuit breakfast is GF!! We definitely recommend the Flying Biscuit for a yummy breakfast!!
Good GF identification on menu, servers definitely did not seem knowledgeable about the topic. No breads. Food was decent, I didn't have the same experience with generous portions. Ultimately, I thought it was only so-so, but nice to have a place to go for breakfast.
This place has an amazing breakfast! Their grits are literally OUT OF THIS WORLD! It makes it worth the 5 stars just for the grits! I have celiac and have eaten here a few times and it's been great! Lots of choices and they have GF toast! I am very sensitive and I've never gotten sick. They actually care about their GF patrons.
Good list of gluten-free menu items, but even marked gluten-free on the menu the patron should be sure to still ask the waiter for the gluten-free version. Some waitstaff were not 100% educated about what gluten-free entailed so I deducted 1 star. The food here, particularly breakfast food, is DELICIOUS. Healthy portion sizes, reasonably priced, very diverse menu, and I felt great after eating there. I definitely recommend Flying Biscuit Cafe.
Lovely waitresses and no problem getting a gluten-free meal at this southern/sandwiches/breakfast cafe. Amazingly good grits. The only reason I am deducting a star is that there were flies, and some of the dishes were too salty (though no more so than i have found in several other local restaurants). Despite the salt issue, I will definitely be returning because the overall experience was good.
