Great food! The gluten free pasta is delicious. They have a ton of gf options—pizza crust, bread, pasta (ofc), salads, fish, fried oysters, and more. I got the steak salad it was super yummy. My dad got the bolognese—lots of meat! You are able to pick 3 different bruschettas on gf bread. The toast itself wasn’t hard, so if you like super crunchy bruschetta maybe skip it. Our waiter knew what celiac was and said there is cross contamination with the pizza so if you are celiac stay away! Gf is labeled on the menu and many things can be made gluten free (also labeled on the menu)
Was blown away with all the GF safe items. I have celiac and they were so accommodating. Fried okra, bacon wrapped quail, GF pizza, GF pita for the charcuterie. There was a bisque that I will try next time. I was in GF heaven. And on top of that the food tasted AMAZING. My non GF friends loved it too.
I have celiac and I love it here! I have eaten here several times in past couple years. They have a gluten free fryer so a lot of the fried foods (shrimp, oysters, crab cake, etc are gluten free). The servers have also been wonderful about making sure I’m taken care of. I highly recommend it.
Gluten Free Pizza Crust and Pasta available.
Gluten sensitive. Our server Ashton took good care of us, providing information as needed. Enjoyed the gf fried okra, crab cake, and sesame ahi tuna. Would go frequently if I lived nearby.
I have Celiac. My husband has no food issues. He ordered a pizza, I ordered the GF quail and let them waitress know I could not have gluten. Another lady brought food out and the pizza pan was on top of my dish with crust edge touching it. Not Celiac friendly. Now we are driving to grab me a bite to eat elsewhere.
I've gotten pretty sick here, I'm guessing cross contamination. A colleague of mine did find a roach in his food, however - so contamination might not be limited to gluten here. I'd given them a few chances but just avoid this place at all costs unless you're going for just a drink.
I was pretty sure that the grove is an excellent place for people with celiac, however I found out late, that despite them recommending a gluten-free pizza, they did not seem to understand what cross contamination means. Only after a bad reaction , when I called the restaurant- they shared that they have only one person making all the pizzas in a very small spot, and there is no chance that it could be a clean area. I was pretty disappointed because the server stressed out that they are very good with Celiac and they have many GF options. I didn’t expect such a gap in understanding what gluten-free means for people with celiac, specifically for a place that prides itself with serving so many GF options. I hope they would consider educating themselves about this topic, because their food is great.
