The simple fact that they have such an extensive allergy menu for everyone is fantastic. They have a celiac safe space for prepared gluten free foods and have so many choices. We had the fish n chips and the honey stinger chicken. Everything came out hot and delicious. Would return.
Went for book club and got the fried chicken. On the table they actually have a QR code for an allergy menu and you can select gluten and choose whether or not cross contamination is ok. Then the menu organizes by things that need to be modifiers or are fine they way they are. The gluten free biscuit was yum too.
My husband is a symptomatic celiac. I am not but this review is for him. He had the fried chicken. He had a great, safe experience. The server said all batter is gluten free, in addition to what other reviewers shared. Also our server was knowledgeable and kind, and so my hubs felt better communicating his needs.

This place is amazing! Thank you to previous reviews for the recommendations. I ordered the fish and chips (made with GF beer and batter). It was so good I ordered more to take home. They have a gluten free menu and a dedicated fryer... Nothing containing gluten is fried in the fryer. Basically anything fried that is on the menu is safe because they don't cook with glutened batter or breading - which reduces kitchen contamination too. The staff is AMAZING and knowledgeable.
My husband does not have dietary restrictions and ate a regular burger. He said that was fantastic food too.
My daughter and I went yesterday for a delicious lunch. I had the Ruben with sweet potato fries. Both were absolutely amazing! They had a ton of gf options including fish and chips and fried chicken! Would definitely go back!!!
Wow. This place impressed me. Owner has a relative that has celiac so they get it. Dedicated fryer. And overall yummy food. They have an allergy menu but their regular menu lists GF and GFO. Had a gf Reuben and it was incredible flavor. This is a sister restaurant to Acova which we love, too. Definitely will be back.
Shame on me for not reviewing sooner. I've been to Hornet several times now and have had a consistently stunning experience each and every time. Their staff is kind, patient with paranoid gluten avoiders like me and the food is TO DIE FOR, but you wont actually die because they understand cross contamination. You got a friend or family member who thinks gluten free food can't be delicious? Bring them here. You got a craving for some deep fried and safe gluten free noms? Get over here. Megan and all other staff I've managed to interact with are FANTASTIC humans. Get over here!!!
Excellent place for Celiacs. The owner's wife and son have Celiac, so they are extremely knowledgeable and cautious. The old reviews are bringing down the Hornet's ratings. (Especially the person that just wrote a review but hadn't been there in years 🤷♀). I have been here several times in 2024. My 1st time was for a rehearsal dinner. The hornet has a fantastic GF menu. Tell your server that you have celiac, and they will take extra precautions.All fries and potatoes and fried foods are made in a separate fryer. GF food is made in a separate area. There are GF menu items and then many items that can be made GF. They have a completely separate GF menu. Today, I had the fried chicken and gravy breakfast. It came with a GF biscuit which was really good. Seriously good food. I have since been back 3 additional times since the rehearsal dinner, and the food is excellent. I also posted a review on their Google local page which pictures.
Ordered fish and chips for pick up. I was suspicious about them being gluten free since it says they are beer battered. Put in the notes section that I had celiac and to change gloves/use a separate station. Food was delicious and I didn't get sick. Will be back to try other things.
They have an online allergen menu. The waitress told me they do have a separate GF fryer so I’m not sure if that is new based on prior reviews. I’m not symptomatic so I wouldn’t necessarily know if my food was cross contaminated but based on the menu there were lots of options.
Got the prime drip sandwich dairy and gluten free. They have a menu for allergens. Drinks were okay.

Went there a couple years ago and they were no celiac friendly at all - fryers are not celiac safe
The menu lists a lot of gluten free options, but literally everything has cross-contamination. The chips/fries are in the same fryer as gluten items, the breads and buns are toasted in the same place as regular bread, etc etc. The only thing they could guarantee gluten free was a cup of soup and the lettuce wrap. Only positive was that my waitress knew the answers to my questions and understood what I was asking/what cross contamination is. Probably great for gluten-sensitive people, but not worth it if you're celiac.
Went here a few months ago- they have a huge gluten free menu, but because I am celiac and got really sick here I give it only two stars. If you're not as sensitive, Great stuff. If you are, be cautious.
