Dedicated gluten-free facility that is very conscious of all food sensitivities. Home of the best gluten-free croutons in Ottawa.

SUPER rude to me and my mom. Asked a simple question and she got mad and was not kind. The price was also insane for the service and and taste. If you want to run a GF bakery at least try to be nice. I also heard the owner saying to the people in front of us that if they shopped with them they could feel normal again. Normal and broke, like what are you saying crazy lady.

I gotta say, this was not my favorite bakery a few years back but it's really good now. My favorites are the donut muffins, the strawberry rhubarb pie and the latest addition, raspberry bars. The burger bubs are also quite good. And the owner is a sweetheart!

Absolutely fantastic. Everything I’ve tried has been amazing, and the service is always personal and welcoming!
Get the unicorn squares and focaccia. Oh my! :)

Absolute best gf bakery I've been to. The owner is so pleasant and helpful. They even sell their flour blend for people to bake at home. Wonderful place.

I have shopped here off and on since 2016. I mostly buy their bread and occasionally a sweet treat for my son who is also GF.
More often than not, when I’ve visited the store, the owner has been incredibly rude and I have decided that I just cannot patronize this store any longer. Their products are decent (although their prices are the highest I’ve paid for GF bread in Ottawa) and the store is close to home, I’d rather support a small business that treats its patrons with kindness and respect.

Amazing food and staff. We love taking our son there, who has celiac.

The Nanaimo bars from here were delicious as was the pumpkin pie. This pie crust is my favourite in the city.

The chickpea bread (toasting it and Eating it right away is best) and chickpea pizza crust ( WAY better than rice crust, not super thin and actually a decent size) are phenomenal. 0 chance of cross contamination since its a dedicated facility. The desserts are amazing too (nanaimo bars and pecan tarts are so good). Only negative is that it is quite pricey.

We were in town for a few days and had intention to go to another gluten free restuarant but they were closed the 2 days we were here so we had to look for a place to buy food for my husband who is Celiac. It was a last minute decision to come here so I didnt have to make anything to bring with us. Anyway, this place is over priced, and the portions are so small! My husband spent over $60 here and barely got any food. And everything he ate he tells me it didnt even taste good. He said I make better stuff then this place! And I am new to Celiac cooking because my husband was just diagnosed a year ago! So ya! Wont be coming back again! My husband said he would rather have had canned a beans instead, haha cheaper and tastes way better.

We stopped there today for lunch. Food was good but the service was VERY slow. Prices are on the high side. The place looks like it needs a facelift, there was a lot of "stuff" behind the counter which I felt should have been stored behind the scenes. Would I go again? Probably not, but I do admit the fact that I could sit down and not be afraid to be contaminated was fantastic.

Two words: Donut muffins! It's all you really need.

The breads are great, the only problem is that there are no nutrition facts and I can't figure out carbs for my daughter who is type 1 Diabetic.
Foccacia had a very strong margarine flavor but excellent texture. Sourdough bread is great but tiny slices make a sandwich impossible unless you want a finger sandwich. Sourdough is listed as vegan but contains honey (not vegan).

Sorry but your GF goods are just okay. Quite frankly, my wife and I can make most of it better and not have to pay the exorbitant prices. Yes, your mock rye is awesome - but it's not worth $12!

Amazing bakery! I have loved everything I have tried! A little expensive but it's worth having bread that tastes like bread! Salted caramel cupcake is my fav!!
Great variety! Tasty! The cost is a little high...

Everything I've eaten from The Joy of Gluten Free has been tasty and satisfying. You don't miss the gluten. Everyone will love these baked goods.

Love the idea of this bakery, and the selection is nothing short of impressive. But the sweets are *way* too sweet, and I've got a seriously sweet tooth so that's saying something... It's too bad. Prices make this place prohibitive as a regular place for me. Paid $19 for a tourtière, $17 for a pie. But her crust is delicious. My family ate it over the regular pie I had bought them (much to my chagrin!). Chick pea flour is hard for me to digest so a number of things are off the menu for me. Bread is pretty good.
I can't really afford to frequent this bakery too often as 6 cupcakes are $18. They were delicious but an obvious splurge for me. Did not find the owner to be overly friendly but maybe she was having a bad day? Overall impression left something to be desired... I may give this place one more try to see if I was just in on an off day.
Chick pea flour bread is amazing
Not a place I would return to, dirty, rude and food isn't so great.
Amazing food! A must try!
Complete gluten free bakery, Lots of selection. First gluten free bread I have tried that tastes like real bread. As everything gluten free it is very expensive and they only take cash. Overall good place but the owner lacks people skills.
